It's here! It's here! Clair's first-ever (and, Lance hopes, last-ever) Pokemon Prom is here, coming to you straight from scenic Tohjo Falls! You've packed your bags, you've hitched your rides, and now you're taking your first steps in to a super swank palatial PokeManor where, prior to now, only the pseudo-legendary best of the best had ever tread. Gosh, that must make you pretty special, huh? (Well, you and everyone else in the massive crowd that arrived along with you, that is.) Of course, you're all destined for greatness. But at the moment, your more immediate destiny is forty-eight hours of fun.

KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think garden party!
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since this is a house party and not a hotel party, but this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who would prefer to class it up a little more than just your standard garden party. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.
• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — a sculpture of Lugia, a painting of the Ecruteak City skyline before the Brass Tower burned down, some stone etchings of what might be Fossil Pokemon, and so on. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.
• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.
• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. Of particular note is a glass case with a broken Ultra Ball mounted inside; the brass plaque attached claims it's the ball Lorelei was using when she almost caught Articuno. On a lighter note, there are also pictures of the Elite Four themselves — your standard Official Portraits™, sure, but also some framed candids of them in various configurations hanging out with their Pokemon and engaged in various activities around the house (Agatha making waffles, Lance and Bruno clowning around in the pool, stuff like that).

[Eventually, John's feet need a little break from dancing so he starts wandering the mansion, accompanied by his Lampent, to see what trouble interesting things they can find. He's still dressed in his party duds, and Chandel is sporting a lacy, dark purple bow around the tip of her "hat". The pair somehow winds up in the library, and John can't really complain about that. He may not be as big a bookworm as some of his friends, but he's not going to pass up the opportunity to read what must surely be rare books. Just think of the tactical pointers he could learn!]

[John immediately starts looking for any books he can find about ghosts, his Lampent helping him to reach any on the higher shelves because being 5'2" kind of sucks.]

[Why is there a Vulpix wondering around who knows why. The little Vulpix finally runs right into John's ankle and stops there shaking it's head.]

Spirit~ Where did you go!

[And then Perona follows in.]

Oof. [John glances down to see just what exactly collided with his feet. Upon discovering that it's a Vulpix, he bends down to pat the little fox on the head a few times.]

Hey there, little one. Now where did you come from, hm?

[He glances up as Perona arrives on the scene, though remains crouched on the floor with her Vulpix.]

Ah! Hey Perona! Does this one here belong to you?

[Spirit, it's so hard to run in this dress. Doesn't this fox realized it yet? Perona's hand-made parasol is closed and hanging on her arm.

Thank god it stopped when John petted her. The fox lifted her chin up smiling with a soft purr. Perona let out a quiet sigh.]

I swear you did that on purpose. [Speaking to the fox 'mon. Now to John.]

She does, and this time she better stay near her trainer. What are you doing here anyway?

Hehe, she's cute. [He moves his hand to scratch under the Vulpix's chin.] I am here doing a bit of research! Not a whole lot, mind you, since this is a party after all. But with Agatha being a member of the Elite Four and coming here likely being a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I couldn't resist poking around in here.

What about you? Aside from chasing cutie here?

[Le sigh.] I'm... [Lost? No, can't say lost. Who gets lost in this crazy place?] Looking around. I was curious to what else they got here in this establishment. Who's Agatha? [Don't mind her asking.]

Ah, she's one of the members of the elite four. A ghost-type specialist. Or at least she was in the game back in my world. And I think I saw some pictures of her when I passed by the trophy room earlier this evening, so.

[Being in the ballroom with a huge crowd of people was too overwhelming for this girl so she thought escaping to one of the more quieter rooms would be a good idea to ease some of that feeling.]

[Mayu had led her Haunter out so he could also enjoy the scenery but rather than stay by his trainer's side, he decided to wander off a bit towards John's direction. Mayu was bit of a slow person after all.]

[John hasn't noticed Mayu or her Haunter yet, too preoccupied at the moment with a book on the highest shelf. He's way too short to reach it, so he's trying to direct his Lampent towards the correct one. He has two other books under his arm already.]

No, not that one, Chandel, the one next to it. The black one! Yes! You got it? Be careful now...

[The Lampent slowly starts pulling the book off the shelf with her flat hands, John standing below her with his hands outstretched in case the book falls or something.]

[Surprise, surprise! Seems Riku's entered the library for similar reasons. While Flare and his Scizor peruse some of the nearby shelves, he'll march right over to John and his snazzy ghost.]

[John to face Riku, grinning, with two books under an arm.]

Well I suppose the truth had to come out at some point. Dating the Queen of Books has had its side effects, I'm afraid. [He laughs.] Sup, Riku?

Anyway, nothing huge is going on right now. Just trying to escape the pressure around the dance floor.

Dance floor pressure, huh? [A playful, teasing smirk creeps across John's face.] Having trouble keeping the ladies away? Were they lining up around the dance floor to get in on the action? Do you need help finding a stick to keep them off?

[It's pretty obvious that he's not at all serious here. He's pretty sure he knows what Riku actually means but the joke was just laying right there. You don't pass stuff like that up.]

Who needs a stick when you've got a seven-foot dragon? One look from Flare, and they fled for the hills.

[And here's a little ghost in a bowtie floating around the library unattended. Edmund the Yamask was a librarian in his past life, so he couldn't pass up the opportunity to check out this nice collection! When he sees John searching the shelves, he wonders if he might be able to help out. And the boy has a Lampent with him, so he's probably not afraid of ghost-types!]

[Edmund floats over, writing a note with the pencil and pad of paper he's carrying, and holding it out for John to see when he's finished.]

Hello, are you looking for any kind of book in particular?

Hehe, well aren't you helpful? Snazzy bowtie, by the way. Very nice. Anyway! It just so happens that I am looking for books about ghost types. I figured the Elite Four would probably have some really good ones in their collection that I haven't read yet.

I haven't seen any of those just from browsing, but I do know of a few respected researchers who have written about them, their work might be in here.

[Oh no. Too cute, can't deal. It's a good thing John isn't the villanous type or he would be super tempted to take this little guy home with him. One can never have too many ghosts!]

[One would think that Bro wouldn't even think about being in a library when there's a kickin' party going on outside of it. But you'd be wrong. It may be a party, but this is a one time opportunity that he just can't pass up. Who even know what kind of information the Elite 4 might be keeping in here? So while he isn't one for books all that much, he does want to find out as much as he possibly can on powerful Pokemon and shit like that. Anything to get ahead, since it's pretty obvious he isn't going home any time soon.

At first he doesn't really notice John as he approaches a book shelf. After plucking something off it, he turns and actually notices the kid.]

[John glances up from the book he's been thumbing through, trying to decide if it's worth taking over to a table for more in-depth perusing, and snickers a bit.]

Well I'm no expert, but I would say it's the same person who let you in here. Or did they force you in here because wow, Bro Strider in a library? Of his own free will? Now I have seen it all!
