The orders are pretty simple. Go in. Wipe out the Team Aqua and Magma Grunts. That's it. So there's not going to be any farewell speeches or anything like that from the Admins because they're of the opinion that you guys have totally got this.

And if you don't...

Well, don't worry about that for now.

Instead, just worry about getting to the nearest base and boarding a helicopter. After that, you've got a short (or long, depending on which base you're heading to) ride ahead of you to some islands in the middle of the ocean, inhabited by a bunch of Aqua and Magma Grunts who have no idea this surprise is on the way. So just do what you do best, Rockets!

And as far as the Admins are concerned what you do best should be to win at all costs. Anything less and well, that would just be an embarrassing return to the region for them. And nobody wants that.

Team Aqua, huh? Well, there's an easy solution for that. Micchy's got one hand on his Kadabra's Pokeball, but he has Aki the Pachirisu on his shoulder. Hopefully they won't run into something too difficult, but you never know.

His first stop though is going to be those computers. He leans over them and tries turning one on as long as no one's around. What are you working on, Team Aqua?

Man, computer duty sucks. There's really nothing to do since October except mess around on them and scroll through Archie's blog for the latest post about how Team Magma is stupid and how Maxie's a giant stupid jerk with a stupid face. So basically, business as usual.

What's not business as usual is some stranger in a Rocket uniform using one of their computers. In fact, how did a Rocket even get in here to begin with?

“Hey you! Get away from that!”

[grapeeater]

He looks up, and Aki chitters, hopping to the ground. Are they going to battle? She could use some exercise!

"No. This base and everything in it is now property of Team Rocket. Leave, or be forcefully ejected from our base."

It's not as convincing when he's not in armor... or backed up by anyone... but with his Pokemon he should be able to take care of them. That's why he volunteered for this base to begin with. Type advantages would not be kind to him with Team Magma.

“Your base?!”

Who the heck does this guy think he is? She'll reach for a Pokeball and bring out one of her level 41 Golbats. It sure is at a disadvantage against the Pachirisu on his shoulder, but she figures she's got this one in the bag anyway.

“Yeah, right. You Rocket dorks couldn't kick us out if you tried. This base is Team Aqua's and the only one getting ejected from here is you!”

[grapeeater]

"You can give it a try, but I think you're going to be disappointed."

A Golbat? Really? He rolls his eyes at her. This is going to be a lot easier than he expected.

"Aki, let's go. Quick Attack!"

She chitters excitedly and then jumps into the air, trying to smack the Golbat at high speeds.

Moving in with a bunch of quick hits is definitely a sound strategy. Golbat gets batted, sorry, around a fair bit, before the Aqua Grunt is able to give her first command.

“Poison Fang!”

There's a smug look on her face, which is probably the same smug look all the NPC Grunts from any team get when they think they've got this. Because that Pachirisu probably won't like the fact that Golbat's jumping forward for a quick bite. And the sooner that's done, the sooner she can finish this guy off and boot him out of here.

Poison. Something he should have expected, but he didn't bring along anything specifically for that. He can deal with it later. Aki should be strong enough to get through this. If she's not... well, he's got some backup, though she's his best chance for this.

"Discharge!"

Aki sways a little bit from the poison, but gathers electricity around her and lets it fly at the bat. Micchy tries to remember what's good against Poison while he waits for her next move. Fire? No, that's not right. Psychic, maybe? That makes no sense but it rings a bell.

“Gonna have to do better than that if you expect to turn this tide!”

Tough talk, but she's thinking she's pretty lucky that Golbat didn't get paralyzed here. That could've been really bad. And it's a shame that Pachirisu wasn't poisoned so she'll just try another status attack.

“Confuse Ray!”

Golbat emits a brief flash of light, hoping to make Pachirisu about as confused as...well about as confused as the Team Aqua Grunts are as to why Team Rocket's in their base today.

Uh oh. That could be trouble. He'll just have to keep trying... she's tough, she can make it through it. Probably.

"Try a Thunder Wave!"

Aki tries to charge up and then... falls on her face. It's very very tempting to facepalm here, but he resists the urge. Barely.

[whos_that]

For what it's worth, the Grunt finds this hilarious. So she's just going to point and laugh. Oh and attempt to make things worse with her next turn.

“All right, Golbat! Use Mean Look!”

And after making a really angry face, Golbat's going to attempt to keep that faceplanting Pachirisu from switching out.

Good, he wasn't planning on switching her out anyway. He takes a deep breath to try to keep his cool.

"Get. Up. And try it again."

Aki squeaks a bit at her trainer's tone of voice, and gets up, shaking her head. Okay. Okay. Thunder Wave. She can do this. She gathers the electricity around her again and shoots it towards the Golbat.

Hooray! No faceplanting!

Golbat was paralyzed!

“Are you kidding me? Quick! Use Poison Fang again!”

Unfortunately, Golbat wasn't full paralyzed on this turn, so it's swooping forward to try and inflict poison again. Will it work?

It does! Aki tumbles back and gets up, but it's clear she's hurting. Micchy runs through her movelist in his brain and nearly facepalms. Why didn't he start with this one?

"Super Fang!"

Aki nods, winds up, and - nope. She sits down hard, yelping. This isn't going as well as he'd hoped...

There's another laugh from the Grunt. She's really enjoying the fact that she's not the one suffering from a crappy status effect right now. Sure Golbat's paralyzed, but it's not fully paralyzed on this turn either.

“Air Cutter!”

Which isn't going to be very effective if it lands.

Nope, it's not, but Aki shakes her head.

"Do it again."

She lets out a frustrated chitter and launches herself at the Golbat fangs-first. She's determined to get this done!

Super Fang connects! Golbat's HP was cut in half! Which means a strong attack can probably finish it on the next turn!

“Ugh, no way! Use Confuse Ray again!”

Golbat goes to do so...but, it's fully paralyzed! Uh oh.

“Oh come on! That's totally unfair!”

[grapeeater]

"Not at all."

Excellent. Finishing it off is the priority right now, even with Aki looking like she is, so...

"Use Swift!"

Aki glows white for a moment, and then stars shoot towards the Golbat.

The stars impact Golbat and well...it's done for. She'll recall it, and grab another Pokemon.

“Don't get cocky, kid. There's plenty more where that came from!”

And out comes another Golbat. Apparently there really are plenty more of those. Same level as before, so there's nothing really new here.

“Go! Swift! See it how that squirrel likes that!”

And now it's Golbat shooting stars at Pachirisu.

Aki squeaks loudly as she's hit, and falls over. Between the poison and the damage she's taken, she's done. Micchy sighs and recalls her, thinking over his team.

"Fine."

He sends out Yoshiro, and the Kadabra sizes up his opponent. He waggles his spoon at the Golbat, and lets off a Psybeam.

Maybe fighting without calling his attacks will work better.

Psybeam hits and manages to confuse Golbat. That's not good.

“Golbat! Use Bite!”

It's okay, she's got this. She can use a super effective move too. Except Golbat just hurt itself in its confusion by...flying face first into the ceiling. Um.

“What are you doing? Stop it!”

[grapeeater]

Interesting. Well, he can't have that continuing. Even if the confusion makes him grin a bit. Payback.

"Let's do something about that, shall we?"

Yoshiro's eyes glow for a moment, before they flash. Golbat will find that it can't bite anymore. Or at least not use the move bite.

“Confuse Ray!”

That's okay, the next move wasn't even going to be Bite anyway. After all, if her Golbat's confused, then his Kadabra better get confused too.

Except now it's flying face first into the ground instead of using Confuse Ray. Wow, confusion sure does suck.

[grapeeater]

You know what? He's tired of this 'playing nice' thing. He tilts his head to the side, and Yoshiro disappears.

... And reappears behind her. Teleport sure is a fun move.

"Let's try this."

Provided her Golbat doesn't interfere, his next move is to use Telekinesis to lift the grunt up into the air.

Wait, where did that Kadabra go? It shouldn't have disappeared like that. This definitely isn't good.

“Golbat! Find it! Use Swift!”

And no, it's still slamming its own face into the ground. You're clear to use Telekinesis there!

Micchy just laughs, and Yoshiro picks up the grunt with Telekinesis, trying to pull off her Pokeballs.

"I think I'll take these. They could be useful for us."

He does keep an eye on that Golbat, though. It could be a problem...
