The orders are pretty simple. Go in. Wipe out the Team Aqua and Magma Grunts. That's it. So there's not going to be any farewell speeches or anything like that from the Admins because they're of the opinion that you guys have totally got this.

And if you don't...

Well, don't worry about that for now.

Instead, just worry about getting to the nearest base and boarding a helicopter. After that, you've got a short (or long, depending on which base you're heading to) ride ahead of you to some islands in the middle of the ocean, inhabited by a bunch of Aqua and Magma Grunts who have no idea this surprise is on the way. So just do what you do best, Rockets!

And as far as the Admins are concerned what you do best should be to win at all costs. Anything less and well, that would just be an embarrassing return to the region for them. And nobody wants that.

Psybeam hits and manages to confuse Golbat. That's not good.

“Golbat! Use Bite!”

It's okay, she's got this. She can use a super effective move too. Except Golbat just hurt itself in its confusion by...flying face first into the ceiling. Um.

“What are you doing? Stop it!”

Interesting. Well, he can't have that continuing. Even if the confusion makes him grin a bit. Payback.

"Let's do something about that, shall we?"

Yoshiro's eyes glow for a moment, before they flash. Golbat will find that it can't bite anymore. Or at least not use the move bite.

“Confuse Ray!”

That's okay, the next move wasn't even going to be Bite anyway. After all, if her Golbat's confused, then his Kadabra better get confused too.

Except now it's flying face first into the ground instead of using Confuse Ray. Wow, confusion sure does suck.

You know what? He's tired of this 'playing nice' thing. He tilts his head to the side, and Yoshiro disappears.

... And reappears behind her. Teleport sure is a fun move.

"Let's try this."

Provided her Golbat doesn't interfere, his next move is to use Telekinesis to lift the grunt up into the air.

Wait, where did that Kadabra go? It shouldn't have disappeared like that. This definitely isn't good.

“Golbat! Find it! Use Swift!”

And no, it's still slamming its own face into the ground. You're clear to use Telekinesis there!

Micchy just laughs, and Yoshiro picks up the grunt with Telekinesis, trying to pull off her Pokeballs.

"I think I'll take these. They could be useful for us."

He does keep an eye on that Golbat, though. It could be a problem...

“No! You're not taking anything! Put me down! Golbat! Do something!”

She's just basically flailing in midair while Golbat...snaps out of its confusion! And finally targets Kadabra with that Swift attack. Looks like it's finally back in the game. But for how long?

The Kadabra does put her down. In fact, he just drops her completely, and Micchy walks over as Yoshiro fires back a Confusion.

She better move fast, because Micchy's about to put a foot on her back or stomach as soon as he gets close.

"You know, you guys can be really predictable in the way you use Pokemon."

Crap, crap, crap crap. What to do, what to do? This isn't supposed to go this way. They're supposed to Pokemon battle, not pull stuff like this. Uh...uh...uh...

“Haze!”

It was the only thing that came to mind, and probably won't do anything against Kadabra, but she's going to try and use the black smog Golbat's spewing as a smokescreen to get back to her feet and continue battling.

Uh-uh. Micchy may look like just a skinny teenager, but he was on a dance team. It shouldn't take too much to try to guess where she might go and make a leap for the trainer again to try to knock her down.

Yoshiro just responds with a Psycho Cut. The Kadabra just looks kind of bored at this point.

Like she's going to stand still after that, sorry Micchy, but she's not where you jumped. And her Golbat's got about one good hit left in it, so let's try...

“Astonish!”

Yeah, maybe that'll work. Also:

“Knock it off, kid! I don't know what you're playing at, but this isn't how a Pokemon battle is supposed to go!”

Dammit. At least he can recover pretty well.

"Maybe not the ones you'd like to be in. But here you are."

Yoshiro goes for another Psybeam, undeterred by the Astonish. Thankfully the flinch chance isn't too high for that one.

"Is this really all you've got?"

And Golbat faints!

“Clean out your ears!”

She's apparently regained her composure now that he's stopped trying to do...whatever that was. Seriously, all of you guys need to learn manners. This is not how Pokemon battles are supposed to work.

“I already told you there's more where that came from.”

Case in point, ANOTHER level 41 Golbat.

“Bite!”

And here we go again.

"Yes, but you've yet to impress me. Or make any sort of impact, really."

Oh come on. Do you guys just hate using different types? The Bite hits, and Yoshiro wavers a bit. Not an encouraging sign... that took out a good chunk.

"Let's take care of that one, too."

The Kadabra's eyes flash as it uses Disable. No dark-type attacks for you.

“Who cares if we make an impact on Team Rocket. We've got bigger fish to fry!”

...wait, they're Team Aqua. They're pro fish, so that's bad...right?

“We're going to make an impact on the whole world! That's way more important!”

There, she saved it. Somehow. And speaking of not doing something different...

“Astonish!”

"I meant me, personally. But whatever. Shouldn't you be eating something other than fish, given your type preference?"

He tries to send a mental command to Yoshiro to use Psycho Cut again but - nope. Not this turn. The Kadabra flinches back, and he's not going to be that helpful right now.

“Astonish!”

Yup, she's doing it again. Was Disabling bite really the best choice here?

“And nobody asked you for your opinion!”

Wait, she's got more to say.

“Or to invade our base!”

"True, but it's happening anyway."

Oh come on. At least this time Yoshiro can respond with a Psycho Cut. He's looking a little unsteady, but he doesn't have a ton of options. Not yet, at least.

"If you guys weren't so easy to track maybe we wouldn't have invaded your base."

“You're kidding, right? We've been here forever, and you're just now showing up?”

She'd keep talking but Psycho Cut hits Golbat pretty hard, which distracts her from going on about Team Rocket being slowpokes.

“Golbat! Get some health back with Leech Life!”

Now where, was she?

“You guys probably just lucked out by finding this place!"

[grapeeater]

"Maybe. Or maybe you're just idiots."

This isn't looking great... Yoshiro glows for a few moments while he uses Recover. That should keep him going for a bit.

"I'm betting on the latter."

“We're not idiots! We're the smartest ones around since we're the only ones capable of figuring out how to make the world a better place for everyone!”

Team Rocket's just clearly too dumb to realize that the world would be a better place if Team Aqua reduced the world's land and replaced that with more oceans.

“But you can worry about that after we kick you out of here! Golbat, Bite!”

And then...

“Can you use Bite?”

Since it's swooping in to do so, it looks like it's no longer disabled!

"You do realize just putting more water around isn't going to help people at all, right?"

Not that Team Magma is much better, but whatever.

"Oh come on."

Yoshiro takes the hit and just responds with a Confusion. This Golbat needs to get out of here, now.

Golbat's confused, and one more hit should be enough to bring it down.

“It'll help the Pokemon! And that's what matters! Now Golbat, finish that Kadabra!”

Whatever Golbat was going to do, it's not doing since it managed to KO itself.

“No way! Ugh! Fine, deal with this instead!”

Out of the next Pokeball comes...a level 41 Golbat? Oh no, wait. It's actually a level 47 Sharpedo. Huh, that's different.

So it is. And it's a bad type matchup, so he calls Yoshiro back and tosses out a Drapion.

Unfortunately that gives the Sharpedo a free hit, but he can deal with it. Mamoru is tough, and he's pretty confident that the huge Pokemon can keep going for a while.

Yep, that sure does give her a free shot, and she's going to try and take advantage of it, by ordering Sharpedo to use...

“Ice Fang!”

No need to spam Aqua Jet for priority here, so she'll opt for trying to freeze, flinch, or somehow inflict both on that Drapion.
