Rating: uhh...PG for possible language?
Log:
[To say that John was "looking forward" to his second date with Rose would be a gross understatement. He had barely been able to sleep the night before they left and ended up knocking on Rose's door at five in the morning because he'd finally given up on the notion of sleep entirely. Plus, weren't you supposed to leave early for camping trips?]
[Unsurprisingly, Rose hadn't expected him that early. She'd given him a very bleary look, stepped back into her room to give her clock a bleary look and then asked "...are we leaving 'lready?"]
[Even less surprisingly...she'd fallen right back asleep the minute they had both clambered inside Elliot and gone on their way. But that was okay. Because she had fallen asleep on John's shoulder and he had absolutely no qualms with that at all.]
[And then a few hours later, his excitement wore off and he too fell asleep. Wow, their trip was off to a great start already!]
[Elliot wasn't the fastest pokemon but fortunately, being a ghost, he didn't really need a lot of sleep. So their four day trip ended up taking only two. Once inside the forest, Elliot went back inside his ball for some much needed rest while the two kids shouldered their packs and began walking through the forest, hand-in-hand.]
[Surely this was going to be the best camping-trip-dino-hunt-vacation-date-extravaganza ever! Also possibly the first ever, because seriously, who besides John would come up with something as crazy as this?]

Can you now?

Mmhmm, look watch. [He crouches down next to his bag and starts digging through it, eventually pulling out a small container full of pecha berries. Removing the lid, he pulls one out and then closes the container back up and sticks it back in his bag.]
And I'll need some help from my lovely assistant Casey~ [The bunny in question, who had been picking some flowers nearby, perks up at her name and scampers over. John holds up the berry in one hand. Casey's eyes widen...she thinks she knows where this is going.]
Now you see it. [The Lopunny opens her mouth and John sticks the berry inside and Casey begins chewing it happily.] And now you don't!
[Ta-da.]
no subject
That was the dumbest thing she's ever seen.
And she is wearing the largest smile she has yet.]]
John, you are incredibly silly.
[[But hey! She's applauding none the less.]]
no subject
Thank you! [He sticks his hands in his pockets.] I'm sorry I can't put on more of a show. But I can't say I was expecting to do magic tricks while we were here so I'm woefully unprepar-- oh wait. Rose. What's that?
[He starts moving towards her, staring at her right ear with a curiously concerned look.]
no subject
Yes John?
no subject
Hmm, now how did this get there, I wonder.
no subject
no subject
Okay, do you think you can handle one more?
no subject
I think so.
[[Well, she loves magic. You are charming her, even though she knows it's not real magic.]]
no subject
[Yeah. That one wasn't even anywhere close to magic, John. Real or otherwise.]
no subject
To her? That was magic. Perhaps not real, maybe not illusions, but boy did it have an affect on her. So she's just going to sit there and stare vacantly a moment, a blush slowly rising to her cheeks.
And then she dissolves into shy giggles all over again, burying her face in her hands.]]

Nothing's wrong, John. Absolutely nothing.
no subject
[Biiig smile~]
So do you want to go finish setting up the tent? There's still two more things we need to do.
no subject
no subject
And I need to put the stakes in too. You never know when random gale force winds will blow through and I would rather not be taken along for the ride in a dome tent. I imagine that might be painful.

[He gives her a quick hug before rummaging through the tent bag, from which he pulls out four small metal stakes and a mini-hammer. He was made for this job, Rose. You have no idea. He then moves around to the back of the tent, and a few moments later there's the clinking sound of metal against metal.]
no subject
...Just plain blue, John? Really? Rose is going to have to fix that. Either way, it's rolled out and a pillow is put at the top of it. Hers (A pink, skitty themed one) is rolled out right beside it, again a pillow placed at the top. And then? Over the top a blanket is laid. Just to make sure they stay warm.]]
no subject
[John's still busily hammering away at the stakes, the third one to be precise, in the front right corner. And Casey...well Casey wants to help too. So she's pulling the backpacks into the tent. Is she a good girl, Rose? Is she helping? Oh please say she's helping. :<]
no subject
But yes, Casey. She turns around and just gives her a warm smile, pointing to a corner of the tent.]]
Thank you Casey! You can set those over there. Are you excited for camping?
[[You'll never guess what she has for you in her bag, Casey.]]
no subject
[Yes Rose, she is very excited. And...you have something for her in your bag? LE GASP. She will never guess.]
no subject
She hands the small pile to her so she is free to make her bed as she pleases.]]
Here you go Casey.
no subject
[And once she's done with that (rather tight) hug, she's going to drag the pillow and blankets over to the last free corner of the tent and make something that resembles a blanket nest.]
[Attracted by the borderline screech from his
bby gurlloving daughterLopunny, John appears in the tent opening, looking a little concerned.]Is everything oka-- oh. [False alarm, nothing is wrong. Casey was just shrieking with excitement. Business as usual, carry on but oh goodness those sleeping bags are rather close. He's just going to hover awkwardly in front of the tent. What's he supposed to be doing again? The stakes are all in...what now?]
