It was a nice night.

Probably the most simplistic description ever, but it was the best description Twilight could think of. Seated outside, mug of hot chocolate in her hands, watching the Illumise and Volbeat mating dance above them, that was the best description she could think of. Nice.

She'd come out here to just enjoy the night and think for a while, not ever having been one to go in for Hearts and Hooves Celebrations anyway, but as time passed and she watched the bug Pokemon, she found herself thinking that there was really only one thing that could make this moment better.

So that's how it happened. You kissed her and she rejected you, do I have that right?

(She sighs while raising a hand to her face, blinking a few more times as she notices her heart's beating slightly fast.)

Uh, I kissed you and it's your choice. You said you weren't looking for romance, but things change...how was it? Did you like it?

[Okay, that question confuses her. She just... stares at Rainbow as though she'd just said her shoe tastes good.]

Like it? You just kissed me out of nowhere just to demonstrate what you did to Flutter... Shy...

[She stops there, and just stands there stupefied for a moment. Oh no. No no no she cannot be serious.]

Rainbow, have you been... drinking or something? Because you clearly aren't thinking straight right now if you're asking what I think you are.

(Rainbow eyes Twilight in turn with a semi-serious look on her face.)

Of course not! I'm just asking what you thought of it, and you say I went drinking?!

(And that's when her eyes narrow in near-disbelief once her brain catches on. Not that she wouldn't consider it, but...with Twilight?)

...If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, we're totally different!

Well what were you asking me then? Or rather, what was the point of asking me that question? It came out of nowhere and was completely awkward, even if I had wanted to kiss you I probably wouldn't have liked it!

[She shakes her head in disbelief and no small amount of irritation.]

Rainbow, just what are you getting at here? What is the point of this conversation? I feel like we're barely even talking about the same thing at this point.

Aghhhh, I just wanted to know what you thought about the kiss! And now I know...even if it didn't make things totally awkward you don't like it. Or you just don't like it coming from me.

(Rainbow turns away, an irritated frown mixed with a pout shown on her face.)

...I won't bring this up with the others. We can just forget it ever happened.

Rainbow, I told you. I don't think about romance, and I'm perfectly fine being that way. Why would one awkward kiss change that?

[She sighs irritably, and folds her arms.]

As for forgetting about it, first answer me one thing. Why did you do that? Why did you kiss me, Rainbow?

(Rainbow simply shrugs while letting out a small snort.)

'Cause it happened on Hearts and Hooves Day?

(She groans loudly, shoving her head between both arms irritably while balling her hands into fists.)

...I don't know, Twilight! I don't know! I just acted, okay?

[She sighs and rolls her eyes back, pleading to Celestia for patience.]

Rainbow... please don't ever do something like that without thinking about it first again, at least if I'm involved. Can you promise me that?

...Yeah, I promise Twilight. Maybe I'll figure out why I did it, just not right now.

(She stretches after turning back around, allowing a small grin to appear.)

The cocoa was pretty good, though! Think you could make some more~?

[She can see an obvious subject change like that a mile away, but honestly? At this point, she'll take it.]

Yeah, yeah, I can make more. I still can't believe you don't know how to make your own cocoa, though.

(Her grin grows bigger, laughing at her friend's comment.)

Hey, I'm lucky I can make anything the right way! Cocoa's a little complicated for me.

You take the powder and pour it into hot water. How do you mess that up?

[She is now very scared of the thought of Rainbow Dash cooking.}

(Her cooking's fine most of the time.)

A blender? ... What would you blend? A spoon works fine for stirring it.

Uh...The powder, maybe some strawberries or whatever's fruity? Ha, I'll remember that.

... It's cocoa, Rainbow. You don't put fruit in cocoa. Where did you get that idea?

Wait, are you telling me you take cooking instructions from Pinkie?

Well, yeah! She does live above the Cakes' bakery so she's gotta learn something decent about cooking.

(Unfortunately, most of what she's learned does involve a lot of sugar and tutti.)

I suppose that's true, she is a good baker. It's just... most of her recipes are, how should I put it... unconventional?

[Hot. Sauce. Cupcakes.]

...Eheh, yeah - that's why I always make sure to get stuff made by the Cakes and not Pinkie.

(Eee! She's grateful she never tried those. They'd totally remind her of rainbows from Cloudsdale.)
