It was a nice night.

Probably the most simplistic description ever, but it was the best description Twilight could think of. Seated outside, mug of hot chocolate in her hands, watching the Illumise and Volbeat mating dance above them, that was the best description she could think of. Nice.

She'd come out here to just enjoy the night and think for a while, not ever having been one to go in for Hearts and Hooves Celebrations anyway, but as time passed and she watched the bug Pokemon, she found herself thinking that there was really only one thing that could make this moment better.

Someone to share it with.

Outside: Bug Watching

[Applejack leans on the fence outside the Pokemon Center, her eyes fixed on the sky. The Volbeat mating dance was nothing like anything she'd ever seen before. It almost looks like the stars themselves are dancing.

It's just a shame the pokemon itself is so weak, or she would consider taking one home with her.]

[She's busy enough looking up at the bug-types and watching them dance that she doesn't even notice AJ's nearby until the Slowpoke at her feet nudges her.]

Hmmm? What's up, Snails? [She glances over in the direction he's pointing, and blinks in surprise when she sees Applejack.]

Oh, AJ! Over here! [She calls from her bench, waving the other girl over.]

[She smiles, walking over to her friend's side and sitting down.]

Hey there, Sugarcube. Quite the sight, ain't it?

[Her smile grows wider as Applejack seats herself next to her, and she nods emphatically.]

It's a lot like fireflies back home, only... so much bigger. And everywhere. I bet you could go just about anywhere and see them tonight.

[Fluttershy has been more quiet than usual as of late, due to something that happened between her and Rainbow Dash - she has yet to say what happened. Right now, the bugs buzz around her as naturally as a disney princess, and she pets any passing ones.]

Fluttershy!

[From a nearby bench, Twilight waves at her friend, laughing just a bit at the sight of the bugs flitting around her.]

They love you as much as all the other animals, don't they?

[She smiles at the compliment.]

They're really adorable... And they're just so happy to be together...

Then this blackout was worth it, just for that.

[She smiles affectionately and pats the bench.] Why don't you come sit with me a while? There's a great view of the ones dancing in the sky from here.

(Rainbow Dash could be found silently staring up at the flying Pokemon, a deep sigh heard from the former Pegasus with both Daring and her recently evolved Lightning -who was now officially a Pikachu!- curled up near her feet.

It would be obvious to any passersby that the evening's event wasn't high on her favorite list of things to do, but...she'd never say why.)

Rainbow? You alright there, Sugarcube? You're lookin' pretty blue, a lot more than usual, I mean.

(...Great. The one pony she didn't wanna talk to came right up to her! She responded with a light shrug, feigning sleep not really an option.)

I'm fine, Applejack.

[She raises a brow.]

You really think I'm gonna believe that? Come on, you can talk t'me.

[Despite awkwardness with RD, Fluttershy still wants to have a good time with her friends. So she puts on a brave face.]

[It's been a long, strange night, but Applejack finally makes her way back to their hotel room. She smiles at Fluttershy, taking a seat next to her.]

Hey there, Sugarcube. Enjoyin' the night?

[She smiles and nods.]

It was fun, seeing all those cute bugs...

I've never seen so many of 'em in one place. They sure looked happy, though.

(Guess who showed up with a similar expression on her face? She didn't want that feeling to stick around, especially since it might cause problems down the road if it wasn't dealt with.)

...Hey, Fluttershy. (There's one right there - she referred to her fillyhood friend in full like before.)

[She gives a shy smile, glad to know they can come to terms with this.]

It was a lovely night.

[It's after the other two have their conversations with her, and Twi slinks over to see how the situation's progressed since their last talk, catching Shy in the corner of the living room.]

Hey, Shy. Are you still doing okay?

[She looks a little dizzy.]

I... I think so. A lot's happened since we talked.

[It's been a lovely, slightly chilly, very awkward night, and now as it winds down, Twilight just wants to sit in her comfy chair and sip a mug of hot cocoa while she reads.

Huh. There's a full mug right next to hers. Looks like a silent invitation.]

Rainbow Dash popped up with a teasing grin, feeling a lot better than she had earlier in the night.)
