Obito kind of pitied Sakura whenever she got here, if how excited Naruto was was any indicator. The guy was practically vibrating in place. Still, he was admittedly really relieved when he saw Tenten. With the whole vanishing thing Sasuke pulled he'd been kind of... worried.

I wonder why there's so many of us here. Comparatively- seems like having others from home around is somewhat rare.

I find it really weird too. I mean, Sasuke was alone for months before me and Tenten got here, then it was weeks more before anyone else started showing up. Now though? It's like flowers after a rain.

Mmn. I'd almost wonder if it had something to do with the war back home, like they're being sent away somehow.

But, that doesn't explain why we're here.

Maybe there's a simpler answer for it though- perhaps after a few people had been pulled from their worlds it's... easier, somehow, for more to slip through after.

I've thought about it a lot, especially since Naruto and Shino got here. Sasuke was here for months, but those two don't remember him being gone. They don't remember him being different after either. I've seen a couple network missives about it before, actually, someone who went home and couldn't change anything from what they'd heard would happen, and other people who just couldn't remember here until they came back. So being here... is a moment out of time there.

It was pretty disheartening to think, in a way, that their actions wouldn't really mean anything. What was the point of it? Aside from whatever it was they were supposed to accomplish here, for these people.]

Maybe that's just more reason to enjoy it while we can.

[How else would he ever know about the man his son was growing up to be? Sure he'd lose that knowledge one day but...

Still difficult to believe that ending up here was mostly a good thing, though.]

I'm glad I ended up here sensei. It's just like life, people fighting and not seeing eye to eye, but I've made some friends, and some of the people here are ones I never would have had a way to know before.

You should be happy too. There are people who have been here for years, after all, and show no signs of going anywhere.

[He's sincere with that, despite how it conflicted with the more logical side of him that kept saying there had to be more to their appearance here than it seemed. That they should really be back home instead, even if there wasn't much of a home for some of them to return to.

Kushina had said something similar though, that they should enjoy their time here and be grateful that they even had any time at all to be together. While it still felt selfish, not entirely right... he was.]

I tend to mostly tune it out if I'm not actively listening to that. You know you can tell where someone is by that?

I'd noticed it was different between towns. The routes too, what little time we've spent there. I suppose it would be a little more helpful if I recognized more of it though.

Just remember what it's like where you started. If that music isn't the one you hear backgrounding someone who claims they're new, they've either already gone a distance, or they're with Yeam Rocket.

Noted. What all can you tell me about Team Rocket?

That it isn't really all made up of people who want to be there. Itachi's on that team, actually, so I expect we'll start getting information sooner or later, and Tenten has a contact in the ranks too. There's a guy named Bowser who put out a hit on pretty much all the shinobi, though he knows me and Sasuke on sight, and seems to have gone really quiet lately. The police actively keep an eye out for them, but don't seem to do anything about them unless they're wearing their uniforms, and they're much more organized than anyone else in Johto and Kanto, for the most part.

[With the shinobi mostly scattered it was difficult to say that they could be rather organized themselves. But with two possible sources of information he hoped any surprises would be kept to a minimum.]
