Well! I think someone left it to one of our classmates when he left Johto, but then that classmate left Johto as well. So it's ours now.

[He visibly flinches sharply at that, though he doesn't seem about to back down just yet.]

[The question is quieter, some of the force behind it gone; it's still pressured, but nowhere near as loud.]

[Her Saionji smirk is back, but there's a very visible pause beforehand that probably gives it away, and she's kicking herself for that. Dammit, she's gone soft.]

Actually, I would - if you wanted to avoid speaking to someone who killed you, that would be understandable.

And anyway, if someone killed me I'd want to talk to them. [And by talk she means FUCKING SMASH THEIR FACE IN] They could've done it for a reason. [A reason... like Koizumi's murder. She- she guess she can forgive Kuzuryuu.

His punishment was losing Pekoyama. That was punishment more than enough.]

[Ishimaru is quiet for a moment, thinking that over; he sets the egg Saionji'd given him down on one of the chairs nearby where he can keep an eye on it, then goes back to playing with his pool cue a bit, no longer making eye contact.]

I understand, then. I wanted to talk to the person who killed me, too.

Eh? You got killed? [Well, she's not surprised. She would seriously be shocked if Ishimaru actually killed someone, given his title and weird righteous air- and also shocked if he lived, because seriously he'd be a Number 1 Target.] By who? [...She's gonna figure out eventually, anyway, as Ishimaru will.]

...If you want to answer. [Good Saionji, just... try to model after Koizumi's sensitivity. Attempt to. Okay, she added it in a bit late but SHE TRIED]

You'll probably hear about it eventually; it's not really my place to talk about that, though, and it was really complicated anyway. But I wanted to talk to them anyway, for the reason you described - I wanted to know what their reason was.

...What if the reason isn't one you want to hear? [Her face scrunches up a bit in distaste.]

[He pauses again, tilting his head a little; it strikes him as kind of a weird question at first - obviously you're not going to want to hear someone justify why you had to die, that's going to be terrible no matter what. But when he thinks about it...it makes sense, he hadn't just thought about it in quite that way.]

Well, I guess my case was a little weird because I wasn't going to like the answer no matter what it was - there wasn't any way it was going to be okay. There was just one answer that would have been...well, less okay.

[He huffs a bit; this isn't coming out right, hold on.]

Basically, there were two reasons this person would have wanted to kill me - one would have been entirely selfish, because that'd mean they did it for personal gain. The second would have been because I'd...hurt them. In some way that was completely unforgivable. While the second would have been more justified, I don't think I would have been able to live with myself, knowing I'd done that to someone.

So both options were really bad; it was just a matter of working out what I'd be able to live with and what I wouldn't, and I was actually really relieved to hear that it'd happened for the selfish, less justified reason.

I'm sorry if I'm letting you down by not being able to answer; like I said, though, my circumstances are...kind of weird.

[Well- with the two kinds of reasons he stated, if she had to choose, it's an obvious multiple choice, isn't it? It shouldn't be affecting hurt, but it is, and she hates it. Saionji's never had this problem before this whole- fiasco.

...Murderschool and murderisland scenarios take a toll, huh. In any case, she just lefts her face fall flat, but not completely so that it showed disappointment or shock or anything. Just more of an- energetic still, resting face, trying to hold back a tidal wave.]

...It's fine. The whole 'despair' circumstance is weird to begin with, anyway. [Just- just gonna... let it slide.

She just doesn't find anything to say after that.]
