A menagerie of the tragedy that I've caused

It's a lovely day out.

While the last attack had been delayed by too much snow to be pleasant, it seems that the weather is with him today; the sun has been out and the temperatures high for the season, and overall, he finds that he can't complain.

The bombs have been set. The residents of Ecruteak have "forgotten." And unlike the hotel room he was holed up in last time, the room he's in is very, very dark.

It's not to say that there's no light; the device in his hand is offering a light ambient glow from the numbers adorning its face. There are a few of them; he allows his fingers to trail over them idly while he waits. Exactly what he's waiting for is a little difficult to say; perhaps it's just a matter of dramatic timing.

Some of those numbers are pressed down after a while, codes of some sort. He pauses for a moment; catches his breath.

Clicks the red switch at the top.

Hopefully no one was particularly close to the museum, as that explosion is going to be a nice one. Not enough to take the building down, mind you, but more than enough to take out a good portion of it. (Sorry about the lawns on those houses nearby, by the way; they're going to be looking a little rough after the fact.)

He closes his eyes once it's done, a light smile crossing his features underneath the hooded mask; it's been a while since he's done this, but the sound is just as beautiful to him as it always is.

[The nurse pales at that news, but she nods and hurries off to follow Emmy's orders. It's obvious she's trying to keep the news quiet and evacuate everyone as quickly and calmly as possible, but who knows how long that'll last.

Luckily for Honedge there, the bomb is not activated by motion! It's perfectly safe to chop the wood, though those beams are pretty thick. This could take awhile.]

[...he doesn't have time to waste if the bomb is actually in the tower itself, so he'll signal for Grey and his Quagsire, Salvador, keep a close eye on the sides of the path as he quickly walks toward the tower.

...after he takes a few steps, he looks at the spacy Quagsire, stops, and lets out his Serperior.]

You keep an eye on the path as well, Cezanne. We can't afford to miss anything.

[...he thinks the Tower is his best bet, so he'll head there more quickly than his Pokemon.]

[...yes it will; try as he might, Hershel is only a tiny sword, and he can only do so much. He's still...giving it his all...!

...until Jean decides that this is taking too long, and he drives his arms through the door to rip the wood free himself. Can Metang Power get this door open faster?]

[Your Pokémon probably won't find anything amiss on the path itself, so at least there's that!

The door to the tower is shut because of course it is. It's not going to be easy to open either, since it looks like someone really didn't want you getting in. The double doors won't budge if you attempt to push them open.]

[You tried so hard Hershel... Yes, Metang Power can indeed get the door open faster! Just be careful that you don't throw anything inside the room or you might hit the bomb. It shouldn't take too long for Jean to get that door open!]

[This is the sort of situation that does, indeed, suck, unless you happen to be Seth. But as it is, it seems that there are some people who just can't let things be.

That said, however, there doesn't seem to be anything posing an immediate threat near the inn itself; the surrounding area seems to be clear. Do you want to remain outside, or do you want to try your luck indoors?]

[The Volcarona perks up a little, turning away from the site of the explosions to see her trainer following the strange girl. Hey now, what-]

But what about the Pokemon Center?

[Jimmy falters for just a second, his expression shifting into one of concern. He looks over his shoulder toward the way they had come before turning his attention back to the girl.]

...No, you're right. Let's go.

[Hah! The thing has been done, and the door is open!

...

...now what, um.]

Please...just be careful, you two...l-let's have a look at it...

[Trying to keep her voice from trembling, Emmy approaches the bomb flanked by her two Pokemon. What do we have here?]

How attuned is your moth to its surroundings, Jimmy?]

[Well, that sure is a bomb. It's got a black casing that's perfectly smooth and it appears to be pretty well-made. There's a red light at the top that occasionally flashes, but there's no beeping and it doesn't seem to be counting down to anything.

What will you do, Emmy?]

[...it's shut and barred. of course it is. Well, Kayneth rarely goes anywhere important without a Ghost Pokemon, and given that this could be... volatile, he brought his Banette instead of his Chandelure.

For all he knows, there's a mechanism inside that he needs to use to open the doors, so he'll release Malyutin...]

Provided there isn't some sort of barrier obstructing you, proceed through that door and take a look around.

[With a surprisingly resolute look, the Banette nods and attempts to comply. Grey floats up next to Kayneth to relay any necessary telepathic information between them.]

[That question would be better asked to Jehra, because he's the one with the sixth sense for disaster, and so he's the one leading the way.

That said, Jehra decides that it would be prudent to check inside, just to make sure. If they left just for things to explode over here because they weren't thorough enough... well, it's better to be sure, in any case.]

[Seems like you've got this all figured out, Kayneth! Your Banette won't have any problems getting in, but opening the door might prove a bit more difficult.

There's a beam placed in the handles of the door, effectively blocking the door from opening inward. It's a thick, heavy-looking beam.]

[She's pretty sensitive to her surroundings, at least far more than her trainer will ever be. There is a lot already making her uneasy, and she didn't like this girl much the moment they encountered her. Either way, it's clear that she's not all that comfortable with just letting Jimmy go off to this supposed route.]

[Indoors it is!

The lobby is nice, even if it's the sort of thing that looks like it would have been incredibly modern in the 1970s; the fact is that it's clean, and perhaps more importantly it's clean in a more thorough sense, with regards to chemicals in the immediate vicinity.

What it does have, however, is a rather harried looking man in the inn's uniform, looking through what looks to be some sort of logbook and seeming increasingly peturbed. It could be something of interest; it could be none of your business. What now?]

[How good is she at picking up wavelengths?]

[Malyutin looks up at the door, then lets out a few screechy noises in Pokemonspeak to tell Grey what's going on. Dutifully, Grey telepathically relays the news to Kayneth... who really just gives a dismissive snort. Since he can, he'll respond to Grey via telepathy.

Well, that shouldn't be too easy for you to lift up, should it? Go ahead and get it away from the door, then.

Grey nods and sees if it's not terribly difficult to use teleknesis to lift up the beam and move it to the side of the door, then! Malyutin will start scouting ahead a bit inside, then, to see if there's anything he and his Trainer should be immediately concerned with.]

[Those antennae of hers aren't just for show- they can pick up some of the most minute disturbances. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.]

Well, since PANIC AND FREAK OUT isn't an option...]

...we need to get it out of here. All the...the injured Pokemon...

[How can they move it though? What if it detonates?]

...get back. Let's get as far back as we can, and then, Jean, I want you to try and pick it up with your powers! Let's see if...if that works!

[So the three musketeers race back as far as they can from the bomb while keeping it in sight - can Jean lift it?]

Because there is very definitely something reacting to a frequency of some sort between a pair of old buildings on the way toward that exit.]

[Nope, it definitely won't be difficult to move that beam! Congratulations, the door is open!

As for what's going on in the tower well... Floor #1 is pretty boring. There aren't any other people here and the place seems completely untouched. Don't worry, the sages have been keeping up the place so it's not dusty or anything! Aside from some wild Pokémon there really isn't much to note here.]

[A person could lift that bomb with some difficulty, but since Psychic Pokémon work on a whole different playing field... yep! It shouldn't be any trouble for Jean to lift it up and move it!]

You know what-

Inferno catches that wavelength when they start to get near it and is quick to fly over Jimmy and the girl, sweeping up a few feet from the ground with her six wings spread wide, blocking their path with a hard look at them both.]

Wh- hey...what's wrong? We need to leave!
