Summary: The second round of dreaming, during which participants ought to be having a dream that involves travel of some variety, or of needing to get to a faraway place. The content is up to you, just make sure it involves that in some way!

[It's day two of the dream plot, and this time participants have gone under for good; hopefully you weren't in an uncomfortable location, because you're going to be in a minor dream coma for the next two days, traveling along to...

"That's a good way to look a it."

She blinks and watches the young blonde. She thought she made it clear that Naminé had already helped a lot with her happiness. "You already are."

[shatterings]

The words make her blush a little and smile. "Well... I'm glad. Ilya said the same thing, too."

[bylight]

"Ilya? A friend? So you make her happy as well?"

[shatterings]

"She was one of the first people I spoke to, and I've been traveling with her." Naminé pauses, and a shy smile forms on her lips. "She said I did. And she wants me to draw her some time."

[bylight]

It's good Naminé has friends, but Light wishes she was still traveling with her. Traveling alone wasn't something she thought she would have to do when she got here. She smiles and nods, though, for her friends sake. "That's good you have someone who cares for you. And lets you know you make her happy."

[shatterings]

Naminé nods, moving to squeeze Light's hand. "... Mm. I'm glad I came here. I wasn't sure, at first, but... I'm glad I did."

[bylight]

"You can heal here. I think a lot of us can heal here. Though there are those who seem beyond hope." Like Cobra. He was beyond saving. She'd make sure of it.

[shatterings]

"... You've been making enemies, Lightning?" Yes, there's certainly a concerned edge to her voice. Even though Naminé knows Lightning can take care of herself, she's still worried.

[bylight]

"A few. I can handle them. Don't worry about it. And tell Riku that he doesn't need to try and help me. He's got more important things to do." She knows he's got a lot on his plate and needs time to think.

[shatterings]

"You've talked to Riku, then?" Naminé nods once, but... if Riku's got his heart set on something, Naminé knows it'll take more than her saying something to get him to stop. He's like Sora in that regard--but Naminé admires it, more than she'd ever be able to say. "I... can try, Light."

[bylight]

"I've talked to him a few times. He's a good ki-... young man. His heart is in the right place. He's just taking on more than I think he can handle. He wants to travel. More than anything. You should encourage that." She manages a small smile. "He'll burn out otherwise."

[shatterings]

That does sound like Riku. Naminé's only really known him through Sora's memories, because even in Twilight Town, they hadn't spoken too much. And certainly not about Riku's past.

"... I can try my best, Lightning."

[bylight]

"If you have to, get your friends, like Kairi, to help." She closes her eyes and the scene changes one more time. It's a beach town now, the waves gently rolling along the shore, Cocoon seen in the distance. It's dusk there, and everything is quiet.

Lightning opens her eyes and looks out at the water. "... this is New Bhodum. From the visions I saw in Valhalla."

[shatterings]

"... I think he'd listen to Kairi more than me." She looks around, a bit startled by the scenery change. Naminé doesn't mind, though; it's beautiful here, and quiet, too.

"Valhalla?"

[bylight]

"He'll listen to you, too. I know he will."

She takes a deep breath of the ocean air before looking at Naminé. "It's where I watched over the timelines, keeping the legacy of Etro safe. When I became a knight, and... her replacement. To keep chaos at bay. To become death." She has a sad smile now. "I failed. I chose a crystal sleep over the world. Just to see Serah again. Chaos ran rampant, and people stopped aging. There was no more birth, rebirth, any of that."

[shatterings]

"I hope so." But really, if he'll listen to anyone, she'll probably be far from the first. Sora and Kairi are much closer to him than she is, and she's accepted that. Naminé had been shocked, when they had offered to let her join their group.

Sometimes, she still feels a little like an outsider.

Naminé looks at Lightning, nodding slowly. "I... Lightning, I'm sorry... but... I've said it before: I know you'll be able to complete your mission." She takes her friend's hands. "I know it."

[bylight]

"If he doesn't, then he's an idiot."

Lightning squeezes her hand lightly. "I know I will. I have to. No matter what. My friends deserve to be happy in a new world more than anything."

[shatterings]

"I-I wouldn't say that, it's just... we don't know each other as well as the others." It's the truth, no reason to debate it. She does consider Riku a friend--but that had been a different Riku than the one here. Naminé isn't complaining; she cares about Riku, and obviously he considers her a friend if he's traveling with her and talking with her so often.

"It's good to have a goal like that."

[bylight]

"You have time to get to know him, Naminé." Time is all one needs to get to know anyone. Riku was a good kid, and if he didn't give her young friend a chance, she would get very unhappy.

"... this goal doesn't come without a price," she says very softly. She wouldn't be there with them. Not at the end.

[shatterings]

"Oh... yes, I know that." Naminé was still, admittedly, a little shy around him. He knew her, obviously, but she wasn't sure they came from the same time.

"... Goals rarely come without a price, I think." It's said softly. Lightning had seen so much more than Naminé, though; she was certain Lightning knew that.

[bylight]

She takes her hand and squeezes it gently. Light knew all about having friends like that. The ones you weren't sure of.

Lightning bit her lip and nodded. The price she would pay... it was painful to think about.

[shatterings]

"But... maybe you'll get lucky."

Naminé squeezes her hand back. Optimism... it's something she's learning. Naminé had never been too optimistic, because she knew things happened the way they would. It had been black and white like that. Here, though, where everything is so new and so different, Naminé's not sure what to expect anymore.

It's a nice change of pace.

[bylight]

"No. Not when I go back. There's no luck coming my way."

Lightning looks miserable right now. She doesn't want to go back to that moment. She had to. She knows she does. She needs to do this.

"In order for my friends, for everyone to be reborn, I have to sacrifice myself."

[shatterings]

Lightning's admission makes the breath catch in Naminé's chest. Sacrifice herself...? She had no idea-- that can't be.

And yet...

She knows Lightning means it. But there's a hurt in her chest that won't go away. That probably will never go away, because Lightning told her that and Lightning's so important it'll be hard to forget. Naminé's not seen a lot of miracles, and it's hard for her to say maybe there will be one.

It doesn't stop her from hoping.

Naminé doesn't say anything. Just pulls her friend into a hug and holds her tight, like she never wants to let go.

[bylight]

It takes a moment for Lightning to realize she was being hugged. She looks down at Naminé and finally returns the hug. This was probably a very shocking confession from her.

To be truthful, she didn't know what made her share this. Of course it would make her young friend miserable. It was something that needed to be said in the end.

Knowing Light, she would somehow make her own miracle.
