here's an outline of where Yang and her traveling group will be during the time period, with some prompt ideas. if you've got any questions or want to make plans hit me up via PM here or simplypip but you don't HAVE TO before tagging in! alternately characters can call and make plans with Yang over here. (I enjoy writing starters, but I just didn't want to have half a dozen up before I knew what people might be interested in!)


4/18 : teleport in to Violet City; settle in to the inn
4/19 : catch an air show & check out local scenery w/some last minute training
4/20 : blaze it defeat Falkner for the Zephyr badge
4/21 -> 4/29 : Travel from Violet City to Azalea Town
4/30 : Challenge Bugsy for the Hive Badge (victory pending, but very likely)
5/1 : make network post; check out the jazz club
5/2 : ZIPLINE RIDING @ Ilex Treetop Adventure Park
5/4 -> 5/9 : travel from Azalea to Goldenrod City (travel time cut short by Glitch City event)
5/9 ~ 5/24 : back in Goldenrod, find work and finish training to challenge Whitney (other event stuff happening)


at the start of the trip she will be hanging around mainly Penny, Ruby, and Weiss, but by the trip from Azalea to Goldenrod she will have Ashley and Varric along on the road (and more additions are welcome or will be added later!)

[It's later in the day when Ashley heads to the gym- or, well, heads back, as she's already had her gym challenge today, bright and early! But, she's kind of panicking when she returns, slipping inside with her Slyveon Arwen at her side.]

Ohhh I hope no one picked it up, they wouldn't, right? Right? Ohhh hell, stupid--!

[Arwen picks up the pace, prancing on ahead, to where the battles take place, ignoring Ashley's soft fretting about if they're allowed in there when they aren't battling. Ignoring...pretty much everything going on, frankly, and jumps over to a very full salmon-colored backpack. Silly trainer, very silly. She just grabs one of the straps in her mouth and...

drags, well, this'll take forever. Speaking of what's going on here. What're YOU up to, Yang?]

[ Right now, the extent of Yang's actions are limited to calming down and relaxing after that very exciting battle of hers. The air was dry and hot, thanks to the abuse of the elements by her firestorm of a roster, and though Yang could take the heat, it took a bit out of her just shouting and directing her crew to victory. She got really into it, okay...

But now that it's out of the way, she can prepare to pack it in, and that's when she notices the small pastel Pokémon trying to drag someone's bag away from the benches. She stepped over and crouched beside it, just a short distance away. It's so cute she cannot help but smile wide. ]

Hey there, little fella. Need a hand...?

[Arwen lets out a muffled Vee? and glances up, registering Yang and then Yang's hair. She is not entirely convinced she isn't looking at some new kind of Pokémon.

Oh well, if she helps her get this back to Ashley. A nod. Well, yes, girl-slash-Fire-type, she could use a hand! This backpack is heavy.]

Okay, then. [ With that permission, Yang reached down and picked up the bag by it straps, to sling it over her shoulder. It was a good thing that she was only using a light pack for her own combat supplies and treats, and the rest of her gear was stowed in her inn room. This was nothing.

The load secure, she nodded down at the Pokémon. ]

Lead the way, friend!

[Did you know Sylveon move so damn daintily? Arwen looks more like she's doing ballet than walking, but it sure covers a lot of ground quickly. She doesn't really need to go far, though, because Ashley rounds the corner pretty soon after...and sees a girl she doesn't recognize with her bag, following her Pokémon.

Vee! Ah there she is.]

Ohmygod, there it is, aaahgg what relief--

[Speaking quickly and hurrying over. Arwen nods, this is her girl.]

Did anything get stolen? [She doesn't know Ash she didn't have time to look-] Is- I mean, thank you, for helping her, I assume- I left it here after my challenge.

[ Yang halted and looked between the Sylveon and the girl, waiting for the recognition to be obvious. Sure it could be someone pretending to be the right one, but then again, Yang could just as easily be pegged as a thief. Good thing for the benefit of the doubt.

She chuckled, waving her hand. ] It's not a problem. I just saw her trying to drag it all by herself and thought I'd help out. [ Yang slung the bag off of her shoulder and offered it. ] And no, I didn't peek, though I guess I should have checked for some I.D...

[ Hindsight. Whatever. ]

[I PUT A CATCHALL IN YOUR CATCHALL for Azalea/travel threads with Ashley! In which it's time to meet up with the RWPYs and then journey into the wild. Good luck trying to convince her to go to the zipline, because she will stay far away and Fight You if you try to drag her, but she'll lounge around outside writing when the weather's good, most days. When she's not working at the Pokémon Center, that is. Or in the hotel as night starts to fall.

And for travel, she's pretty nervous about Ilex Forest at first, but hey, it's actually a pretty nice place, so toward the latter days of the journey she'll actually be kind of relaxed!

...Until glitching hits on the 9th, then everything's weird. Pick your poison.]

[For her part, while she wouldn't call herself a thrill-seeker per se, it really doesn't take a lot to convince Weiss to take a zipline run. She even gives a little cheer when she's done with her run, and she looks a little smug when she gets back to the ground.]

...you sure you don't want to take a trip? It's really not bad.

[Somehow, in her association with these girls, Ashley's come to watch them put their VERY LIVES AT RISK okay no they aren't but that's very much what she sees it as?

Anyway, she looks up from her notebook and firmly shakes her head.] No, I am perfectly fine with staying right here on the ground, thank you.

I probably shouldn't tell you about the 'landing strategies' they had us use at Beacon. The zipline isn't bad compared to that.

Landing...? [Should she-] Uuugh, I could never be a Huntress like you guys, just the sound of that is unnerving!

[There's really only one inn in Violet that trainer's seem to visit, which makes chance meetings in the halls a fair bit easier then you'd expect.]

Hmm... That's the third one. Now, what else can I find on that channel...

[Rakka's day today was relatively light in training, taking a moment to just ignore the terrible call of the gym leader's badge in favor of another romcom marathon. Rakka's light fretting over the wellbeing of her pokemon buddies was an incentive. Maybe. Better to just let it slide and head back to her room for a bit more Pokeamie..... Huh?

Golden hair, or at least a very yellow blonde, as noticeable as a signal flame, even from down the hallway. And Rakka's positive she knows who that hair belongs to. It just needs... to click.]

Hey... [maybe a little louder] Uh, hey! Excuse me!

5/1, after getting the Hive Badge

[Victory! That took a little more planning than Weiss thought, but she walks out of Bugsy's gym like she just owned the place. After a minute, she fishes some Pokepuffs out of her backpack, sitting down, letting her team out of their balls, and smiling.]

Good job, everyone! You fought hard in there. I'm proud of you!

[ A couple of minutes into that, Yang jogged up while waving. ] Weiss, hey! [ She stopped nearby and put her hands on her hips. She seemed cheerful and a little out of breath. ]

Getting them all pepped up for your match, huh?

[Weiss shows off that shiny new badge.]

[ Yang's face fell as she dangled her arms loosely in front of her. ] Awww man, I missed it?!

[ Still, she just had to smile. ] Oh well. Congrats on your win! Looks like you didn't need me cheering you on after all.

5/10, Outside Goldenrod

[The pixelation and incessant glitchery, while unsettling for Reasons, is more familiarly annoying than anything else. The worst thing, more than wonky communications or accidentally walking all the way to Azalea when all he wanted was some fresh air and a training run, is what it's done to the BGM. Stuck with either spoopy 8-bit funeral marches or dead silence, can anyone really blame Dave for going a little stir-crazy?

He's currently sitting in the blocky hotel lobby, sitting on a similarly blocky, yet comfy, sofa and staring with intent on the blocky bowl in front of him. From a blocky bottle, he pours a cube of water into the square bowl, then pokes the surface. He pulls his finger out quickly and shakes it off.]

Man, what the fuck.

[His next experiment is to pour enough water so that it overflows, which it does in scattered, tiny droplet-blocks across the table, making him grin with complete incredulity.]

What the fuck, I want to shit this all up with JPEG artifacts so bad.

[Ever since the absolutely and completely unnerving aesthetic change hit the entire Pokémon world, Ashley's kept her Pokéfriends in their Pokéballs, which is incredibly uncommon for her; it's not just the world that's glitching out, after all, and it's seriously not helping to keep her from thinking this is, oh, like, the end of the world or something.

But if anything can cheer her up, it's a familiar voice ringing out as she enters the bizarro hotel, just fresh from trying to get herself a new job in the city. She approaches while he's busy with his little water adventure.]

Please don't make this place look even more like a broken video game, Dave.

[Dave glances up, then does a double-take at his name before brightening in his more-shoulders-than-face way. Friend! Hello, friend. He sits up and scoots over to make room for her, should she choose to employ the couchblock.]

Excuse you, what happened to cultural sensitivity, maybe I'm homesick for scratched disks and grody cartridges like you would not believe. I was born and bred on corrupted saves, Ashley, this is the song of my people.

[He offers her a fistbump.]

Welcome to the big city, Cali girl. 'Sup?

[She can't help but grin, even though she was trying to keep a dry smile on instead. It's very exciting, meeting a friend in-person for the first time.]

Cartridges? Didn't they nix those when we were kids, Dave? I'm not that far ahead of you.

[Yes, she definitely sits down next to him, and it looks like her plan is for a hug- but, alright, fistbump it is.

Looks like she hasn't done that a whole lot; the very action amuses her.]

Uh, well I'd appreciate it more if I didn't get here when everything went Digital Twilight Zone...but I guess I'd still be on the road if things hadn't gotten all pixelated, so I can't complain. Really it's just good to see you! And so many others, oh I didn't even realize how many people I need to check in with now.

Yeah, Goldenrod's pretty much where it's at. You got stopping by for coffee on your list, though, yeah? I got so much showing off to do, prepare your eyeballs to be amazed.

[His latte pouring skillz are so rad. The raddest.]

Besides, Karkat's there a lot, and probably some other people you know stop by, so you can check off multiple friendship tickboxes at once. Maka and Kaneki, though, I think they're out of town still.

[ Everything is blocky. Even the nice Swear Jar is barely legible thanks to the heavy pixelation. It's also not anywhere around them; no one else is, either, so the rules have been temporarily suspended. Extenuating circumstances or something. ]

This is really messed up. I think I buy the whole "we're all stuck in a video game" theory even more now. [ Yang drops to the seat next to him and just stares at what he's doing, munching on half of the two-pack of granola bars she's got. They're blocky too but, thankfully, edible.

After a moment, she reached her hand over to offer him the second perfectly rectangular stick of pressed granola and berries. ] Want a byte?

[ Don't smirk don't smirk don't — oh to hell with it, she's PROUD of that one. ]

BlfhnaHA--Yang, Jesus Christ, that was awful. Also, yes. Thank you, you're a gentlewoman and a scholar.

[He doesn't take the whole thing, but snaps it neatly in half (it's so easy with everything so even) and offers one piece back to her. It's her food, after all, and Dave is nothing if not weird about territory and possession.]

I almost wish I had my powers back to see just how badly I could exploit whatever mad glitchery is going on here. I bet I could get, like, infinite items out of this, or set everybody's ringtones to weird ghost noise.

I had to. [ She's not even sorry. If there was a Pun Badge, Yang would no doubt wear it proudly and polish it daily.

As it stands now, she raises her hand up to show that he can keep the other part. This was just a post-jog snack; she already had a meal. ]

You could really do all that? [ With one pinky in her ear, Yang gave it an exaggerated couple of twists. ] I wouldn't mind it if you could at least help me tune out that weird music that showed up.

[He smiles a little as he keeps both pieces, then. And shrugs.]

I mean, I'd have to see what exactly I could get my grubby little fingers into, but yeah. [He takes a bite of granola bar and chews thoughtfully, swallows.] Messing with Time means messing with a lot of broken sh--stuff, so it's possible.
