It is, but it's usssually more accepted when it's a relative accidentally caught. Like Mom and Rose, they would be more than welcome to do a simple parent to child kiss on the forehead. Thank you. [She took a cookie and then hesitated before reaching out to pick up Jane's drink and taking a long, long drink because that would surely help settle her nerves. Even if it was just strange fruit punch. And then she ate a whole cookie. In two bites. Because sometimes she forgets she's a classy lady.]

I keep thinking everyone has been here for a long time, and then it turns out it's only been a little while. [She shakes her head.]

I think the ones who have been here the longest are.. Poppop, Rose and Jade. Er, John, is who I meant by Poppop.

John is both...your ectobiological grandfather, and your grandson, right?

Yes. Where I am his Nanna, he is my Poppop. It's somewhat funny how we have a generation between us. Where Roxy has Rose as her mother and vice versa, Dirk has his brother Dave and so on.. Jake also has a generation between his Grandma English and Jade to her Grandpa Harley. I wonder why the names changed, but more importantly, what significance there is to "the middle man".

[Kanaya is quiet for a moment as she considers it.] I'm not certain it matters at all. On Alternia, there were hundreds of years between our ancestors and ourselves. And we didn't have any connections to them besides what some of the noble bloods discovered.

But given the way SGrub seems to work...or Sburb...it probably does have some significance we won't understand until it becomes important.
