'Cause Baby, Tonight The DJ's Got Us Falling In Love Again...
Who: EVERYONE
Where: Scenic Tohjo Falls!
When: Friday, April 5 through Saturday, April 6
Summary: WHAT SUMMARY DO YOU NEED, IT'S POKEPROM
Rating: May vary by thread, please mark accordingly!
Log:
It's here! It's here! Clair's first-ever (and, Lance hopes, last-ever) Pokemon Prom is here, coming to you straight from scenic Tohjo Falls! You've packed your bags, you've hitched your rides, and now you're taking your first steps in to a super swank palatial PokeManor where, prior to now, only the pseudo-legendary best of the best had ever tread. Gosh, that must make you pretty special, huh? (Well, you and everyone else in the massive crowd that arrived along with you, that is.) Of course, you're all destined for greatness. But at the moment, your more immediate destiny is forty-eight hours of fun.
So get going!

☆ YOU ARE HERE ☆

KEY:
• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think garden party!
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since this is a house party and not a hotel party, but this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.
• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who would prefer to class it up a little more than just your standard garden party. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.
• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — a sculpture of Lugia, a painting of the Ecruteak City skyline before the Brass Tower burned down, some stone etchings of what might be Fossil Pokemon, and so on. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.
• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.
• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. Of particular note is a glass case with a broken Ultra Ball mounted inside; the brass plaque attached claims it's the ball Lorelei was using when she almost caught Articuno. On a lighter note, there are also pictures of the Elite Four themselves — your standard Official Portraits™, sure, but also some framed candids of them in various configurations hanging out with their Pokemon and engaged in various activities around the house (Agatha making waffles, Lance and Bruno clowning around in the pool, stuff like that).

THE ORIGINAL INFOPOST | QUESTIONS AND INQUIRIES HOTLINE

It was one of those brats from back when he'd first shown up here. It felt like a long time ago now.
He shrugged, making his suit jacket go askew. "Not bad. I'm getting the hang of this. You just tell animals to beat the crap out of each other. It's not that hard."
no subject
He feels so out of his depth with this stuff but does his best not to show it. "Taking it you're one of the watching adults of the evening."
no subject
He made a mental note not to step on anything in forests in case it's a natural grenade.
"I guess when what you've got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Here their hammers are horse monsters."
Blake was out of his element too. He didn't even go to his own prom, back...a whole lot of years ago.
"Yeah. Somebody has to keep an eye on all the excitable idiots and make sure nobody's dog burns the house down."
no subject
Speaking of that, he should track down Falkner and talk to him. He hasn't seen the guy in a- "...They never did find Falkner's dad's pokemon did they? Or did you hear about that." Maybe he hadn't.
no subject
"Of course people are in fights already."
Why couldn't these kids be calm and rational like Blake?
"What's the point of a parking lot when nobody has a car?"
Unless they had fireproof stalls for the horses or something.
"Falkner, that's the guy who owns the gym, right? I never heard anything about that. There's no point in listening to those radio shows."
no subject
Falkner's case it was not just pokemon passed down to him. It's his top team. If they're being used for bad shit, they can do a lot of damage."
Gym leaders squared off against a lot of different trainers. Experienced pokemon like that in hands that knew how to use that knowledge...especially for nefarious purposes. It spelled bad news.
no subject
Blake would like to see some consistency in these criminal organizations.
As the kid goes on, he gets more concerned. "And these clone police ladies aren't getting anything done about it?"
Not a shock. They didn't project a whole lot of competent professionalism.
He looked off over the heads of the crowd and said thoughtfully, "Somebody should do something."
no subject
Those three things were unstoppable and we tried to down them. They were laughing at us, I'm convinced they were. Just kept moving, causing blizzards, and plowing through cities. But yeah, I don't think the police ladies are much help and something has to be done." Which is why Falkner had taken to the chase personally and Dave keeps an eye out for any hints.
It feels like this world you have to step in and handle things yourself more often than not. He taps a finger against his own arm and looks over the crowd. "The problem with TR has always been how good they are at hiding. Motives have always been pretty clear; exploit pokemon, take over."
no subject
Blake crosses his arms. He'd stopped paying any attention to the people chatting and milling around under the lights strung from the patio. This was a lot more important.
"So they're terrorists armed with giant living bombs with unlimited ammo. They must be some kind of incompetent or everybody'd already be dead."
Steve wandered back over, curious about the conversation her master looked so serious about. When she heard what was going on, she got a matching grim expression.
"Hiding, huh. So the first step is to figure out who can be trusted."
no subject
He'd seen him dead once, thank you. "But people can't die here either. At least anyone from another world can't. It's like the whole thing glitches when you would have and you find yourself back in a Pokemon center." He shifts a bit, he might know death like an old friend but it doesn't mean he has to like it.
no subject
Blake's expression was skeptical.
"People keep saying that. Somebody else can jump off a bridge to test it."
He scratched his head and huffed out a breath. "Besides, if I showed up dead in one of those places, the nurse clones would give me more crap than they do already."
no subject
"Yeah people keep saying the death thing to me too. Not about to go fall on a sword and test it. Be my luck it was be just, for mind numbing stupidity."
no subject
Blake always tried to subtly check for scars whenever he brought his Pokemon to the center. Hadn't seen any yet. Whoever was behind it must have been good.
Blake shook his head. "The weird animal thing I can get used to, but people who die stay dead. That can't change."
no subject
Then he shrugs. "Could be some breakthrough in cloning tech makes the nurses, ie actually existing somehow."
