Who: Hope Estheim (
eagletalons), Steve Rogers (
starspangledavenger) and Carol Danvers (
tookthename).
Where: Violet, and then wherever they will be on the 4th.
When: June 28th, and July 4. Two days in one log!
Summary: A science man and an Avenger had a meet scheduled for July-- cue science man traveling to get there on time. But apparently Avenger is a lot closer than he thought.
Rating: GP I suppose? To be edited when necessary.
Splitting this thing into two master threads for the two days so we wont spam the comm with our characters and any dorkiness/angst that may occur in the future!
Warning: The second thread contains spoilers for FFXIII, FFXIII-2, and Captain America: The First Avenger.

June 28
At least the weather is warm enough that he can use his flying Pokemon to get a fair bit of distance in today-- the unexpected snow yesterday had put a dampener on everyone, and Hope had had to make use of Sleipnir.
Who obviously didn't like being asked to charge through the snow.
Siren is happy to be out of her ball in the warm sun though and takes to the air. They're currently over Violet City, floating around for a bit to get their bearings, the Altaria probably looking like a low cloud from the ground.
Oops.]

Margret yips at the sky, causing Steve to look up too, trying to spot the creature that's caught her attention. What he sees is a cloud and... is that Hope? Amber, who's curled around his neck, looks up too, chirping happily. Steve decides to call out to the person and check for sure one way or another.]
Hope?
(Carol is welcome to jump in anytime~)
no subject
Siren, what are you--
Oh.
[Well then. That somewhat simplifies things.]
Hello Steve. [Fancy meeting you about a week in advance.]
[[ooc: feel free to jump in anytime, Carol!]]
no subject
Carol extends a hand.]
Carol Danvers. I'm traveling with Steve.
no subject
I was just thinking of calling you this morning to suggest a closer meeting place since plans changed, but this solves that. [looks at Carol] Hope and I planned to meet up a week from now and shoot the breeze.
[Margret sits besides Steve and studies Hope closely as Amber chirps happily at Hope in greeting]
no subject
He also waves his hand at Amber and Margaret-- the Absol seems to have taken after her mother instead of her father, thank goodness.]
I can work with this though. I'd already told my sisters that I would be away for a few weeks.
no subject
We can stay in town a bit longer if you want. I still need to get the Violet gym badge.
[When Hope speaks Carol smiles]
You have family here as well?
no subject
Though for now I'm with you two. [Who look like family, to be honest. It's probably the hair color. Of course, he's not making assumptions.]
no subject
You're welcome to stay with us as long as you want, Hope. [Though he assumes Hope will probably leave soon after the 4th and get back to his sisters, but the invitation still stands]
no subject
Yeah, it seems those three are already getting along pretty well.
[She nods over to where both Boston and Helen are happily nestled in the Altaria's fluff.]
no subject
[May be able to give some gym advice too.]
no subject
Steve smiles when Hope says he'll be around for a couple weeks]
Good. So, how was traveling in the snowstorm?
no subject
My two Rapidash refused to go out in the snow, so we had had to wait till the weather calmed down before moving on. When it became clear enough, I started to use Siren.
[Waves a hand at the Pokémon, and Siren trills where she stands.]

July 4
The talk they'd agreed on weeks ago is still obviously in his mind (and he still doesn't know how he should share the things he's been omitting from everyone else), but first.
Birthday.
Hope is outside, tending to a predominantly blue egg and waiting for Steve. Can you say awkward?]
no subject
Today seemed more about the talk he and Hope agreed to have. The idea of talking about his life before coming here made his throat constrict with emotions he didn't want to identify, but a story for a story. What a way to spend his 93rd birthday. No, it's 2013 here, so 95th? Or 27th, maybe 29th, if you go by how long he's been awake, birthday.
Either way, he goes to find Hope and give him a big smile as he makes his way outside and finds him.]
Good morning.
[Then he notices the egg and gives it a quizzical look.]
no subject
... I hope you haven't forgotten what day it is. [Hope wont fault him for it though, since he'd completely forgotten his own till he'd been reminded. After the entire morning and most of the afternoon had passed.
But he'd still feel like a fool if he needed to remind someone that it's his birthday.]
no subject
[He just wasn't expecting a present and still really isn't, just thinks it's funny that Hope is just carrying around his egg like that]
no subject
But anyway, Hope holds out the egg.] Happy Birthday, Steve.

no subject
[It would be rude of him to steer the conversation into the more serious topics that their original plan would be, and honestly, he's still not sure how to go about this thing. Hope has always been a planner, yes, but not when it comes to... well. This.]
Would you like to be somewhere else for our talk, or...? [Awkward.]
no subject
Well, would you rather walk around or sit? [walking around makes if it's here or not kind of pointless, but if they're going to sit, maybe they should find a comfortable place to sit]
no subject
Which all boils down to trust, because he trusts Steve with this because he thinks the man can empathize with him somewhat.]
no subject
He nods at what Hope says]
Wherever you're comfortable.
no subject
[Hope thinks he should insist on Steve choosing, really, but he's going to be paranoid either way unless it's behind closed doors.
A cafe is too open, too public, out on the streets is a bad idea, and you never know who or what's listening if you go to the outskirts of town. It's a private talk best done someplace where you have a semblance of privacy, and Hope can only think of the temporary rooms in the hotels.]
no subject
So if Hope wants to keep it as private as possible, then that would be the better of the two rooms]
