Summary: Sasuke gets a birthday party whether he wants one or not. Lucky for him, he has friends (in spite of his best efforts) who'll plan one.
Rating: G? PG for violence

[ooc; general mingle log for Blackthorn City/Sasuke's birthday. Most of it will probably take place at the hotsprings itself, though like the 'who' says, it's completely open to anyone just walking by and wondering what the big deal is, or someone who's already there and then has their pleasant soak interrupted by a bunch of dumb ninjas.]

[The 'man' of the hour can't help but seem put-out, which is pretty funny considering that the whole party is meant for him. It might have to do with the fact that his brother left the region recently. It might be that he's being given things he never asked for. It might even be that he's not used to parties, especially not ones being held in his honour.

But, the most likely conclusion is the set of cat ears that Sasuke is being forced to wear. Really, no one will let him take the things off!

So he's stone-faced (if blushing a little) and standing off to the side of the main area that the group had booked for the party, not wanting to socialize with anyone in particular. But, considering that he's the birthday boy? Sasuke likely won't be so lucky.]

B)

[Finally a break. Sasuke can't help but let out a sigh as he relaxes in the water, having taken the opportunity to change into proper swim gear to get rid of the cat ears and just enjoy the hot springs. He has to admit, this is a nice part of it, and he almost feels like he can fall asleep sitting there if he wanted to. Or at least he could if everyone else wasn't making so much noise.

Well, as long as they didn't drag him into it...]

[She has a plan. Instead of hanging around him the whole time as she'd like to, she's instead making sure to spend plenty of time with everyone else, too. Kind of intentionally, Sasuke hadn't been the first person she'd come to see. Subtle.

But now she's finally letting herself approach, a wide grin on her face and something clasped in both hands behind her back.]

You look pretty cute with those cat ears.

But Tenten, what about shirtless Sasuke?

[All Tenten gets is an annoyed growl from the comment, his arms crossing more tightly across his chest as he just glances away from her. Which translates as his mood just going from 'poor' to 'bad' in an instant.]

[Oh no, she laughs and tosses him a wink before moving in closer, leaning against the wall beside him.]

C'mon, don't be mad. I got you something.

[She withdraws a Pokéball from behind her back, flicking it into the air with a practiced casualness.]

Kushina is coming right up to him after putting down a big platter of decorated cupcakes.]

[...But what's up with those cat ears. She noticed them as she was inviting him for delicious cupcakes and may be trying really hard not to laugh...]

[He knows what that look is, and it earns Kushina an indignant glare. Along with Sasuke going a little more pink, but shh. However, in terms of the cupcakes?]

No thanks. I don't like sweets.

[The glare at her attempting to force back a laugh she could live with, because the ears and the hint of pink on his cheeks was oddly adorable. The thing that washed away her smile in an instant was his remark about not eating sweets. Boy, you are about to be treading some dangerous waters... answer carefully.]

What do you mean you don't like sweets, I made them for you.

Option C: Sasuke-radar

[So he'd spotted Sasuke earlier and had been about to go up to him-- only that whole thing with his Mom hitting him happened so he had decided to stay clear of it.

Later on though he tracks the other ninja down, sitting alone in a secluded part of the hotsprings, obviously still sore (metaphorically and literally) over the earlier incident.]

[He glances at Naruto, raising an eyebrow before he shakes his head and just looks out ahead over the water. For the most part he's just tilting his head with the Purrloin who insistently nuzzles at him from the water's edge, though if his response says anything it's that he's still at least conversing with the blond beside him.]

[It must be an Uzumaki thing. He slips into the water, but is still far enough away. Out of hitting distance, anyway!]

[This isn't someone attempting to drag Sasuke into anything, just join him and get away from everyone else.

Well, he didn't know Sasuke was there, he just wanted to check out the hot springs, since they were one of the many things on his 'Things Never Experienced' list. And he's still not big on parties.

Also never experienced: Making an entrance by mis-stepping at the edge of the water and tumbling in instead of stepping in.

[The following sound is a cat's hiss as his new Purrloin bristles, batting at the water and narrowing her eyes at Evan. When Sasuke raises a freshly-dried hand to pet down her fur she seems to relax though, mewing and purring as she nuzzles against Sasuke's cheek.

Satisfied that the kitten has calmed down, he turns to Evan and raises a brow. Right, this was that guy who was with them for a while in Olivine...

[Gee Sasuke, he's only remembered as 'that guy in Olivine'? Way to damage the ego there. They'll have to talk more.

He resurfaces soon after Sasuke calms the kitty down, his hair plastered to his face, which looks annoyed. A quick shake of the head gets his hair out of his eyes and that's when he spots Sasuke nearby, the annoyed look becoming surprised.]

You didn't see that! I didn't know the area around the water was slippery....

She's not commenting on the stupid cat ears so that's a bonus so far, though if she wanted will of fire she should check out the name he gave his Blaziken...]

[While Neji has little interest in what Sasuke may or may not want, giving Sasuke a chance to 'be alone' was a gift he was more than willing to give the moody future traitor. Especially when the others in the hot spring seemed so far determined to ensure the youth didn't actually get the solitude.

Not that he was vindictive.

Anyway, Neji's wishes it seemed, didn't completely coincide with Eevee's. While he was safely on another side of the spring, Eevee had decided to start running laps outside of the spring's edge. Inevitably she slipped on a patch of water, slid, and with a startled cry tumbled right into the spring.

Also, most likely, headfirst into the one attempting to relax.]

[Sasuke does get bonked, and he's about to glare when he realizes that the thing that smacked into him is small and furry. Great, someone's pokémon...

He quickly eases his own bristling purrloin with a quick pet before making to pull the eevee out of the water, sighing at it before he grabs his towel and proceeds to dry the animal off.]

Don't run so fast around the water or you'll slip and fall in again. Where's your trainer?

[Eevee aren't wild around here, he knows that for a fact. That and it looks a little young, so it probably just doesn't know any better than to run around the water...]

*Oh look, Sasuke is alone. And with all the noise Imogen can easily get close... but not within arm's reach. She smiles and...*

[That's him stiffening in the water, but he doesn't show any further reaction. His Purrloin kitten, however, jumps high into the air before blinking at Imogen, mewing at her. Why is the lady so loud??]

[Okay she'd played it cool for long enough. Time to venture back over to Sasuke and make sure that he knew she wasn't expecting anything from him after she kissed him. Or well, she was, but she didn't have to and -- this had gotten confusing. But what if she'd messed up and he was mad at her?

A hint of a flush returns to her face as she moves over in the water to settle near him, tossing him a smile and trying not to stare because hello just in swim trunks, jackpot.]

[Granted, it still hurts, but he knows it's not broken at least. It still sucks that he has to breathe through his mouth for a while because of the tissues in his nose, but he's not sure if it stopped bleeding by now or not. At least Tenten isn't making fun of him for it, since that's about all he can ask for.]
