When you need to get away

Summary: The triplets and Ilya take a vacation full of sun, surf, and shopping.

[After a long, emotional moment with Riku and Sora, Kairi decided to grab the girls and take off for a week to cool off. She had managed to find a waterfront cottage at Cerulean Cape and booked it for a nice relaxing week.]

[Kairi was quick to drag her bags up to the bedroom she had claimed for herself. She was lucky in that the four rooms were all about the same size. After flying all the way to Cerulean, she flops herself onto her bed. She didn't even bother unpacking just yet, she doesn't have the strength.]

(Private to Ilya)
[Not long after arriving, she goes to check on Ilya. She pokes herself into her bedroom.]

Hey, Ilya? You here?

[dressofheaven]

Just a second. I'm brushing my hair.

[This is not exactly a small task, given what Ilya's hair is like, but it must be done. She's about halfway through regardless, sitting with her back to the door, facing a mirror, in a very fluffy bathrobe.]

You can come in though.

[Kairi plops down on the end of her bed, her knees locked together and her eyes towards the floor. She'll wait patiently for Ilya to finish with her hair.]

[dressofheaven]

You're quiet.

[An understatement if ever there was one. Ilya runs the brush through her hair a few more times before turning to look at Kairi.]

Do you want to talk, or do you want to give me a hand here? [She pauses a bit.] I suppose we could do both.

Sure.

[She hops down off the bed and moves to stand behind Ilya. She reaches down to take the brush from her.]

[dressofheaven]

Thanks. I always have a little trouble doing it all myself, no matter how used to it I am by now.

[She hands the brush over and sweeps her hair back so Kairi can get at it easier.]

So, are you going to talk to me about what's eating at you, or am I going to have to start prying it out of you the hard way?

[She takes a length of her hair and starts to gently brush it.]

I was a real jerk to Riku and Sora and I don't know how to say "sorry".

[The quickest, simplest way to explain it.]

Shopping!

[ If there's one thing Naminé has learned she likes, it's shopping. So, of course, she's definitely excited--maybe not totally outwardly!--to see all the different shops in Cerulean. It's her first time here, after all, and she's definitely enjoying it so far.

Though, there's something bugging Kairi, and Naminé's noticed it right from the get-go. She's a little quiet as they exit their latest shop, but now, she looks at her sister with more than a little concern. ]

Kairi... I hope you know I'm always here to listen to whatever you want to talk about. No matter what it is.

[Naminé's words snap her out of whatever she was thinking of. She had spent way too much time in her own head ever since speaking with Sora and Riku. She turns to her sister and gives her a smile.]

Thanks, Nam. I'm okay though, really.

[ Well, Kairi's smile reassures her at least a little, but she's still worried. Naminé always will be, when it comes to the people she loves. ]

Okay... you just seem very... quiet. [ Especially more so than Naminé's used to. ]

[She reaches over and takes her sister's hand.]

I'm just happy to get away from home for a little while. Needed to spend some time to clear my head.

[shatterings]

[ She gives her hand a squeeze, nodding. ]

I'm glad you're feeling better now... [ Looking around. ] Cerulean City is beautiful. There's so much water...

It's a lot nicer than stuffy old Celadon. Maybe we should get a place here.

[Though, she'd miss the gardens.]

Let's pretend this is not even later

[faintwaves]

[Xion is absolutely enthusiastic about shopping, which is why she's going ahead of everyone else and looking through all the cute dresses and outfits she can, marveling at them.

Eventually, she pulls the rest of the sisters aside and presents them with 3 matching dresses.]

Girls, pick your armor.

[Kairi gasps, ogling the three dresses. For someone who used to only wear bulky black robes, Xion's sense of style was amazing.]

Xion, these are awesome!

[faintwaves]

And we'll match, that's the best part!

[Well, sister dear, she is your clone.]

We need to pick out some shoes that work with them, too--I didn't do that for us because I didn't want to get you guys anything you wouldn't be comfortable walking in.

[paopuprincess]

We'll be the center of attention. [She grins.]

What kind of shoes would be good?

[faintwaves]

Well--[she points out a pair over in the shoe section.] Those are cute.

[A pause.]

And they'll make us taller.

[Simple Replica.]

Swimming!

[Despite her beautiful swimsuit, Ilya is staying mostly out of the water save for the shallower areas and some of the rides that don't actually involve swimming. Because there's a little something she failed to tell the girls...

She can't actually swim.]

[faintwaves]

[Meanwhile, of course, Comet is swimming as enthusiastically as ever and Xion is...staying in the shallows.

(At least she's in the water this time.)

It takes a moment, but she looks over at Ilya and smiles.]

What, are you keeping me company? It's okay, you can go swimming.

[dressofheaven]

[Ilya responds to that with a sigh and a shake of her head.]

Actually, no I can't. I, ah... I never actually learned how to swim. I never had the chance.

[faintwaves]

You, too?

[Xion, that was a bit of an over the top reaction.]

Oh, gosh...I thought I was the only one.

[dressofheaven]

[Ilya chuckles a bit, though she's still a tad embarrassed.]

I told you about my past. Is it really surprising I never learned? As for you, well, I'm mostly surprised Kairi hasn't taught you yet.
