No.
They are storage boxes on the PC.
Seems those balls you put them in can be transferred on there without harming the Pokémon inside.
You're only able to carry six on you at a time.

When I rented and apartment, I let them all out.

im just thinking of this like owning pets
we had a dog back home but
im not so sure im ready to take care of a LOT more than that

Didn't have time for it.

[The closest thing she's had to a pet was the Angel of Valhalla. Chocobo's are pretty awesome.]

where can a girl find some thrills around here?

It depends on your definition of thrills.
I've gotten into the habit of strength training with my Pokémon.
Entei made it a habit of trying to ram me over, and was surprised each time I stopped him.

Otherwise, traveling has it's own thrills, as well as gym battles in general.

im pretty sure all my pokemon are still babies
but thats something ill have to try for myself

as for fighting im more used to taking care of those on my own
itll take me a while to get into ordering someone else to do it for me

Mine certainly acted like babies for a while.
They'll grow out of it as you train them.

It's not fun having to rely on an electric sheep to fight for you for the first few weeks.
