[He's not particularly waiting for her to get back, but Yosuke's been sitting on the sofa all evening. It's the first evening he's taken off in a while, so while everyone else is taking care of their business, he's just thinking. Part about his situations -- things with Souji, as they always linger in his mind. But that's not it; something else is bothering him.]

[His talk with Athrun still lingers. Why didn't Rise tell him? Did she tell Souji yet? Or the others? Was he the last to know? Or maybe it was something else. After all, she felt comfortable enough to talk to him about the murders - the case. Something they really didn't often mention. Something he hadn't spoken a word to with anyone in Johto. Maybe she just trusted Athrun more; maybe things were changing right under his nose and he didn't know it. He's just not sure.]

[Maybe he just needs to wait. So he sits instead, contemplating whether or not he'll even mention it, or if he'll just offer a goofy smile and be on his way.]

[ the list of everything to do has been running through her mind, and she's finally reached the point where it's one night of packing and she's ready. It's an odd feeling, almost a reminiscent one, to think she'll be traveling with Athrun and Yayoi again after such a long time. But this place is almost like home now, and being without her team...

... Rise gives her head a shake just as she steps into the living room, stopping short when her eyes fall on the figure seated there. ]

Yosuke-senpai?

[At the familiar sound of her voice, he looks up.]

Oh -- hey, Rise. [He smiles, but still, his tone lacks its normal enthusiasm. He opens his mouth as if to say something, but quickly closes it, his brows knitting. Nope. He can't just bring something like that up right on the spot like that.]

[ if he can't, she can. She's used to picking up subtleties, even more so when she actually knows who she's dealing with, and Yosuke's definitely not up to par for some reason. So she props a hand on her hip, eyebrow raised. ]

What's up?

[ not a casual OH SUP greeting, either. This is definitely a Don't-Think-I-Can't-Tell-You're-Troubled tone. ]

[His gaze instantly averts, looking towards the TV. You know, the one that's not on because he's got his headphones around his neck with music playing? He closing his eyes, shrugging a little.]

Just thinking, I guess. It's no big deal.

Just deal enough to suck up your happiness, huh? [ and Rise steps closer, plopping down on the couch beside him in a matter of footsteps. ]

I'm not unhappy or anything!! [Mister Tsundere, right here. He still doesn't look at her.] It doesn't matter. I mean, you've got other stuff to do anyways, right? Trip planning stuff, or whatever.

[Yep. He totally didn't really mean to say that, but he's the king of word vomit for a reason.]

[ trip planning? Rise looks momentarily confused, before realization sets in-- along with surprise. ]

How'd you know about that?? That totally saves me some time!

[When she says that, his eyes dart in her direction - she's so nonchalant about it that it makes his stomach sink a bit.]

O-oh... Athrun-san mentioned it when I ran into him.

[ WHEN IT'S YOU-- she doesn't say, because yes, Rise does know tact. Instead, she scoots a little closer. ]

It's not the thinking, you're just not acting like yourself. It's hard to explain.

[He shrugs a little; he's put on a good front -- but all this stuff - months of dealing with his feelings for Souji, and his ones for Rise too - it's taking a toll on him. It's times like this, when he's tired and it's quiet that bring out the worst in him. It's so taxing and Yosuke's just lacking the energy to fake it like he means it.]

[It doesn't matter though. He doesn't really want to talk about himself, no, that's happened too much lately.]

When were you planning actually saying you were leaving?

Wh-- Wait, you haven't even told Souji yet?

I just said all of you, didn't I? We're a team, so why would I only tell one of you and not say anything to anyone else?

I... I dunno, okay? I figured you'd tell him, at least with the Centre and all... [Tilts his head back, closing his eyes and sighing. Well. He feels like a dumbass.]

If I told him before I was anywhere close to being ready, it'd just be something more for him to worry about. I mean, knowing Senpai, he'd want to help.

[ she huffs a little. ] Honestly...
