Log:

IMPORTANT: HOW TO USE THIS LOG

• Below is a table listing all the ID numbers of the profiles that were submitted to Project L.U.C.Y. over the course of the past week! Somewhere in here, you should see your ID number! Click it and that should link you to your dating profile.

• You should have also received a highest match ID number; it ought to be the person who shares the same first letter of the ID number as yours! Click that link on the table to be taken to their profile and meet your match!

• To peruse all the dating profiles, click "View All" at the bottom of the table, or just GO HERE!

• You may respond to more profiles than just the one we've ranked as your highest match! Though we ask that you please at least make contact with your recommended partner, you may tag out to as many additional profiles as you see fit! Take love into your own hands!

• In a similar vein, even if you did not participate in the initial sign-up and profile submission process, you may still browse and comment to the profiles! You won't get one of your own posted, unfortunately, but you're welcome to reach out and connect with the people who did!

• If you spot a coding error somewhere, please don't hesitate to let us know, and we'll get it straightened out ASAP!

PROFILE ID NUMBER: B1305

ABOUT ME:
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Location: Goldenrod City
Seeking: A kind gentleman, please, or perhaps a well-mannered lady amenable to a social companion of sorts...?

Five Words to Describe Myself: Modest, pleasant, sweet-tempered, fair of face, charming.
Things I Like in a Partner: Someone...who is kind, please, and not too bold, but understanding and gentle and well-mannered. I also would prefer someone who treats others well, and who is honest, and if perhaps that person should also be a bit protective of those he cares for, that would be quite the thing as well. Oh, and — charming, and trustworthy, and well-respected, I like those things as well.
Things I Dislike in a Partner: I'd not like to make the acquaintance of anyone who is cruel, or manipulative, or false; I'd also rather not someone who is ill-mannered, boorish, or coarse, or who treats others poorly in general, and I should like nothing to do with the sort of person who sees others as playthings or novelties to be toyed with as he wills.
One Fun Fact About Me: Perhaps it hasn't much to do with "fun", but as facts go, my favorite flower is the chrysanthemum.

While I'm not a kind gentleman, I think I could fulfill the second type of person...that is, I'm a girl who would like more friends, and my manners are pretty good...I think.

The things you like in a partner, too, I think I'm pretty decent at. At least, when I asked someone for words that described me, words like that were what I got back...so, if you'd like to maybe hang out or be pen pals, that could be fun.

[You know, all things considered Meridiana's been kind of waffling on whether or not it was such a great idea to fill out the little survey that had arrived on her Gear a few days ago, so when the site goes live and a message arrives in her inbox, it's with some trepidation that she eventually goes and looks at it —

...And actually ends up pleasantly surprised, because oh thank god, the person who sent it seems...nice. Sincere and nice is a good way to start this little endeavor.]

O-Oh! Um...how very nice to meet you, yes. I would be most happy for more friends, especially other ladies. And I think your manners are very charming!

[ If there is one thing Nanami excels in it is Being Nice. That's kind of what happens when your father is the sort of person who can't even bring himself to kill mosquitos: you're generally gentle and want what's best for everyone. And everything. ]

My name is Chiaki Nanami, and we're the same age. I like games, and I'm pretty good at them...I've never done this sort of thing before, but...if there's anything in particular you'd like to know, I'd be happy to answer.

Miss Nanami, then, it's very much a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am Miss Meridiana Everett, of...well, Goldenrod City, I suppose, but previously of London.

...What sort of games do you like? Skipping rope, perhaps, or...?

I'm currently in Goldenrod, but I've been travelling in Kanto recently. As to where I'm from previously, that would be Japan.

Skipping rope...I did that once with Koizumi-san, and it was a pretty fun thing. I usually play video games more than things like that...but I don't mind doing them when there's someone to do them with. It's a little scary sometimes, but...it's worthwhile, I think.

Oh, how nice! I'm acquainted with quite a number of people from Japan; how pleasant to meet another!

[But oh, boy, here comes the fatal question.]

"Video" games? I'm sorry, what sort are those?
lullabytes: official game sprite (EXCITED ► you see?!)

[ IT IS, INDEED, THE FATAL QUESTION. Nanami has heard it so many times in Johto, and yet...every time, it shocks her a little bit. Still, she has developed a tried and true method to answering it: BUY THE POOR SAP A VIDEO GAME.

In the space of a minute, there's a notice on Meridiana's gear that Chiaki Nanami has purchased a game for download for her. Skimming the profile Meridiana had given once again, Nanami went with "Pretty Princess Pokémon", a Pokémon dress-up game. There are minigames within which earn Pokégems, which are the in-game currency to buy clothes and accessories. Your Pokémon can then have ~fashion offs~ with other people's in multiplayer mode. It is objectively pretty ridiculous, but the minigame sections aren't the worst thing ever. ]

Games you can play on devices like this gear. They're really cool...but the best way to learn about them is by doing them! So, I've sent you one to try out. I have an account, too, if you want to play together sometime.

[Oh no, a fashion game. THUS STARTS HER DOWN THE DARK AND ENDLESS ROAD INTO TRUE GAMER STREET CRED.]

Oh! Well...I must say, it seems that way for a great many things in this place — learning by doing, and so on.

I shall do my very best at your game, Miss Nanami! I...er. Would you mind terribly if I asked for help with it on occasion?

Hi! Um, looks like we're paired as a good match? Nice to meet you!

My mom used to grow flowers, but I don't think she ever had chrysanthemums. They're really pretty, though, I can see why you'd like them!

[OH BOY OH BOTHER IT'S HER MATCH OH BOY DON'T SCREW THIS UP, MERIDIANA]

Hello! How very nice to meet you as well. What sort of flowers did she grow, may I ask? I used to have a garden with all kinds, myself; the chrysanthemums are my favorite, but of course they don't bloom all year!

[personal profile] occultigen 2015-02-14 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Luckily, she's pretty good at doing the charming conversationalist thing once she gets over her initial trepidations about the process in general.]

How lovely! What color roses and tulips? Violets are always for modesty, of course, but roses and tulips might mean any number of things, from the color.

As for myself, I...haven't any sort of garden here yet, but I should like to have one come the spring, and mean to ask my...um, my guardian about it, once things grow a little warmer. It's not...exactly my residence, so I likely ought to ask permission first.
armoredsoul: (Hm...)

[text]

[personal profile] armoredsoul 2015-02-14 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! I remember pink and purple tulips, and the roses were all yellow and white except for one bush of really deep red ones. Most of the flowers were light colors, so that one always stood out.

That's understandable. Hopefully they'll be okay with it!
occultigen: (CHARM ⚜ no time for obstinate men)

[personal profile] occultigen 2015-02-14 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Why, how very nice! Pink tulips are for caring, and purple of course mean a royal nature, and yellow roses are for friendship, and white are for purity! And the red are for true love, of course, but I should think that goes without saying. What a pretty selection!

Ah...I wasn't matched to you, but those qualities you used to describe yourself are things I look for in a person as well. Not that I'm saying we should go...on a date or anything. But it would be nice to just meet some new people here too, I guess...

[...okay let's see if he can do this.]

Well...My name is Kaneki Ken. I'm from Japan, Tokyo. I was attending college back home and studying Japanese Literature, there.

Um...I do enjoy reading a lot. Though I'm more partial to mysteries or horror stories...I will read just about anything. Because of that I guess you could say I can be a bit quiet, sometimes...but I find that reading is the best way to gain knowledge anyway. You can learn almost anything from reading, after all.

Oh, someone else from Japan! Many of my acquaintances lately have been from there; I daresay I'm learning a great deal about it, being here to receive them!

...What is it about mysteries and horror stories that makes them your favorite?
samsa: (Conversation □ let me explain)

[personal profile] samsa 2015-02-14 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good to hear! It seems like there are a lot of people here from Japan, for one reason or another.

And, well...I enjoy reading stories that make you think, which most mysteries do. If you have a good author telling the story, that is. Horror and mystery find themselves closely intertwined a lot of the time, depending on what it is you're reading...so I find myself enjoying both.

[And he can't really say that the horror stories he's read are especially relatable to occurrences back home, alas.]

Do you read as well?
occultigen: (FAINT ⚜ good thing this couch was here)

That...sounds rather like someone I used to know, I think. Caught up in mysteries and puzzles and such.

And yes, I do read! As much as is proper, at least; it's not at all seemly to have one's nose in a book all the time, of course.
samsa: (Pleased □ that actually went well)

[personal profile] samsa 2015-02-14 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)

occultigen: (UNSURE ⚜ fighting crime in a nightie)

[personal profile] occultigen 2015-02-14 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, books of poems and some of the classic plays, certainly, and...of course, ones on good housekeeping and whatnot.

[And sometimes romance novels, but you can't just say that, especially not to a stranger.]
