☆ YOU ARE (STILL) HERE ☆

KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think garden party!
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since this is a house party and not a hotel party, but this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who would prefer to class it up a little more than just your standard garden party. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.
• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — a sculpture of Lugia, a painting of the Ecruteak City skyline before the Brass Tower burned down, some stone etchings of what might be Fossil Pokemon, and so on. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.
• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.
• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. Of particular note is a glass case with a broken Ultra Ball mounted inside; the brass plaque attached claims it's the ball Lorelei was using when she almost caught Articuno. On a lighter note, there are also pictures of the Elite Four themselves — your standard Official Portraits™, sure, but also some framed candids of them in various configurations hanging out with their Pokemon and engaged in various activities around the house (Agatha making waffles, Lance and Bruno clowning around in the pool, stuff like that).

[And Harry recognizes Blake. It's impossible for him to keep from smiling about the other pink blob, just because he has an obvious weakness for pink blobs.

[...we never said Clara wouldn't say anything, though. She takes one look at Blake and uses a word that is so very not-PG.

Cue a totally mortified look from Harry.]

[Steve waves at him shyly before hiding behind Blake]

[Blake doesn't look real bothered by the blob's mouth.] Yeah, I get that a lot.

Huh. You've got one of the ones that can say more than its name. Looks like it's putting that to good use.

She picked it up from a friend's Murkrow. I keep tryin' to teach her things other than swears, but it's not really working.

[Harry frowns at her, but she just keeps on smiling her derpy little smile, then pokes him in the cheek.

Sorry about that. She means it nicely.

Those're the important part anyway.

[Steve edges around Blake and tries a Snub? at the Cleffa.]

[That is way too fucking cute. Blake steadfastly ignores it.]

Mine never say anything but their weird pun gibberish names.

[Steve snubbullss at him with an indignant look. It is not gibberish!]

[Blake watches the crowd for a while.]

Hey. You've been here a while, right? [He sounded like he was used to the place.] You found out anything about who's in charge here? The local native police are a goddamn mess. I haven't gotten anything useful out of them.

[Clara perks up. BUT WAIT — she's so high up! And her new friend is on the floor!

This will not do.

She scrambles down Harry's side, nearly falling a few times on the way. Life is hard when you don't have fingers. Once safely on the ground, she wobbles over to Steve and... pets his face.

Okay, then.]

Since December. Not that long, but longer than some. Anyway, not... really, no. There's —

[He lowers his voice. Blake might have to lean in a little to hear him.]

There's this other group that's sorta involved, but I don't know much about them. My friend's part of it.

[Hooray, another small pink friend! Steve makes a bulldoggish chuckling sound and twirls around to show off her dress.]

[Blake ignores the animals and tilts his head closer to hear Harry. He takes the cue and keeps his voice down too. This is the closest to a lead he's run into here.]

Involved how? Tell me about it.

[It is a nice dress. Clara makes a delighted little sound, then wiggles her arms to gesture toward the flower on her head. Look! They're both pretty!]

I'm not sure.

[WOMP WOMP]

I've only heard mumblings. I think they're trying to work against Team Rocket, but beyond that...

[He shrugs a shoulder.

The problem isn't that Harry doesn't have a way of finding out; it's that he hasn't asked]

[Steve admires the flower. It is very pretty! She wonders how it stays on.]

[Blake shakes his head and gestures at the crowd around them.]

Typical. There's terrorists on the loose and all anybody cares about is throwing parties.

[MAGIC no actually it's just sort of... tucked in there or something. A headband. No one thought this through.]

Not the party type, I guess?

[Steve admires the ingenuity. Maybe she can find a flower to tuck behind her other ear and balance out the bow...]

Maybe the kind with beer and poker instead of giggling teenagers and dogs in dresses.

[ohmigawd SHE SHOULD HELP STEVE FIND ONE. There are flowers everywhere.

Will their trainers notice if Clara starts leading Steve away?]

Ah, yeah. Ditto. Maybe when this is all over — you know, after-hours.

[Oh, that's a wonderful idea! Steve gestures toward the flower and barks excitedly and follows. Blake isn't really paying attention. Steve's being running back and forth all night.]

[Blake perks up a little at that idea] I could go for that. These kids can't keep this up that long.

[Same with Clara, actually, and Harry's lost count of how many people have come up to him to complain that she's called them an obscene name.

Oh well.]
