☆ YOU ARE (STILL) HERE ☆

KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think garden party!
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since this is a house party and not a hotel party, but this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who would prefer to class it up a little more than just your standard garden party. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.
• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — a sculpture of Lugia, a painting of the Ecruteak City skyline before the Brass Tower burned down, some stone etchings of what might be Fossil Pokemon, and so on. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.
• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.
• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. Of particular note is a glass case with a broken Ultra Ball mounted inside; the brass plaque attached claims it's the ball Lorelei was using when she almost caught Articuno. On a lighter note, there are also pictures of the Elite Four themselves — your standard Official Portraits™, sure, but also some framed candids of them in various configurations hanging out with their Pokemon and engaged in various activities around the house (Agatha making waffles, Lance and Bruno clowning around in the pool, stuff like that).

[And she gives Sayaka and her Piplup, and their food, an amused - almost curious - smile, wondering what sort of fare they're offering out in the gardens. All of her time so far has been spent indoors.

And on that-] Yes- No work, no worries, and a giant house to explore.

And earlier, they switched up the music a bit. [In contrast to the classical strings playing now, as she leads the way in search of something to drink.] Did you catch it?

Hehehe~!

(Sayaka smiles back, barely even noticing Piplup eating the food she'd found a while ago.)

A giant house with lots of other trainers and people, I bet! Maybe even those Gym Leaders you told me about?

(To her question, she thinks about the earlier music being played, picking her Penguin partner up in her arms while keeping up with Mami, before answering.) Yeah! This one's what you might hear for slow dances, I think.

Maybe so. I would go ahead and ask for a battle- But they're likely taking the party as a break, too.

[Ticking off the people she needed to battle them later wouldn't help anything... Besides, she had a little more training to do, first.]

It looks that way. [She glances the way of the dance floor, where a few people are swaying about.] Did you want to dance too, Miki-san?

Eh, we'll challenge them to battles when we're ready; I still need to find a few more Pokemon.

(Definitely so, and Sayaka was learning just as much as Mami along the way. At hearing her question, Sayaka's expression turns sheepish while nodding.)

...Well, sure - i-if you wouldn't mind, Tomoe-san...!

Yes- Though you have a good head start with Squire.

[And she shot the penguin a grin with the comment, meaning it as much for his gumption as his type advantage over the Pewter Gym- Assuming they reached it first.

And- Well! It was a passing inquiry, but Mami reevaluates at Sayaka's acceptance, and her smile's more relaxed as she leads the way to the actual dance floor, offering her a hand.]

Of course not- The point's to have fun, right? And if you'd like to-

Heh, Squire's my starter so it's only natural he'd be in the lead right?

(The penguin nods sagely with flippers/arms crossed before tilting his head; what was his trainer's friend talking about? It seemed important...

As for Sayaka, she took Mami's hand without question once they reached the dance floor, her cheeks only slightly tinted with color.)

R-right, to have fun! I'd like to, of course~

Of course! [And she offers a head duck in apology for the penguin- Then her smile splinters wider as she tries to keep from laughing.

After all, she can't take Sayaka's other hand, with him in her arm, and Mami's only more set on dancing, with her partner looking so cute-

Oh well, she has one hand- she can improvise. Here's hoping both Piplup and trainer care for getting led into a spin right out the gate!]

Who-whoa...~! (Sayaka hadn't expected that at all, nearly letting Squire fly out of her arm but she held on long enough for him to climb up to his trainer's shoulder. Sayaka immediately reached for Mami's hand when she was close enough.)

[Hee hee, sorry again, Squire, but Mami can't help but show off a little. She has to be cool for her friend.

And it serves well, since it ends with Mami getting her hand- And once she had it, she released her other hand to Sayaka's arm, slowing a beat before heads start spinning.]

Not going too fast for you, am I?

Eheh, not at all...! That was wonderful. (Squire's content to relax on his trainer's shoulder and does it fairly easy, since the chances of this happening the day he evolves will be very slim.

Sayaka's very impressed, and it shows in her eyes and on her face as she steps closer.)

[Then Mami will just have to keep Squire in mind enough to not send him flying off the girl- A bit of a challenge, since she's pretty giddy, delighting Sayaka.]

Good. But let me know if I lead you astray. I'm new at this, after all.

[And even when it's something she's not new at it-

But now's not the time to be regretful or doubting, or bring up hard subjects. Not when Sayaka moves in and looks like that. Mami won't allow it, even for herself. But still, she can ask, as long as it's with a smile.]

Are you happy, Miki-san?

(It's a good thing for Squire -and Mami especially- that the penguin Pokemon is soon allured off of Sayaka's shoulder and back to the snack table in a matter of moments. Sayaka glances to her right a bit to see him head off before refocusing her attention on Mami and swaying to the groove.

Her smile turns somewhat sheepish, and she feels confused upon hearing her question, however.)

...Hmm? Am I happy? About what, Tomoe-san...?

[Mami stalls a beat herself - which she quickly makes up for by catching up to the music, re-firming her grip on Sayaka's hand, and donning a smile... because no stopping this dance for her silly worries!

It seemed clear in her head, but if she had to be specific-]

A bit of everything. About being here. ...about traveling, having a new mission.

...and back home.

[Because, the last time she saw her there...]

(Sayaka's gaze locks onto Mami's even as she does her best to keep up with her movements, squeezing her hand while recalling what happened...briefly...)

...I love it. I'm back home...you're here, Madoka's here...We're normal again...

-yes...

[She doesn't know where to start, what to brave, with the memories in mind and a certain note from a trainer's guide humming through her head.

People here come from different times.

What might Sayaka not know? What might she not know?

But Sayaka clearly remembers some things, she fought... And her hand gives her strength.]

I feel the same way. I know there's dangers here, too, but... It still feels like a second chance, somehow.

It is...Tomoe-san...

(They may not be the exact words she spoke to her long ago, but...maybe they're close enough as she momentarily spins herself away...only to dance back and smile confidently at Mami when she returns.)
