Summary: It's Rise's birthday. And with the Fourth Wall wackiness, she forgot to tell anyone. So here's a depressed Rise who now feels too awkward telling anyone.


Locked Prompt for Crocker

[Rise had found a bakery in the quieter part of Goldenrod. She was sitting at a table in the corner, surrounded by her Pokémon. Her Sylveon, Himiko, and her Umbreon, Chiisai, sat on either side of her, and a newly evolved Glaceon, Jin, laid beside Chiisai. Her ever present Meowstic, Nanako, was trying to cheer up her trainer by floating a burning candle and making it move in complicated patterns.

There was a very small smile on her face, though she still looked sad.]

[Rise's out and about town now, her usual smile very brittle. She'll nod to people she knows, but keeps walking, her Pokémon always at her side. If anyone pay attention, she's wearing a pair of black glasses, with small bands of color on the frames, a red Alice band, and a set of headphones around her neck. There's also a blue hat attached to a studded belt, buttons on the hat, and a random red rose attached to the band in her hair, and last, a black tie with barrettes attached. (Of course she's wearing clothes to match this look) These are not the usual things she wears, but items from her friends. She had wished for keepsakes from home, and they had been on her bed that morning.

At least something was going right today. Her thoughts are all over the place, so it'll be hard to get her attention.]

[She's not as confident as she was a moment ago.]

[She takes a bowl of rice and a scoop of the hot curry. She mixes the two and eats it without hesitation.] .... That's not as spicy as I thought it would be. I make omelettes hotter than this!

What, really? It's not that bad?

[She scoots closer and peers down at the fire curry.]

I think it might be too much for you.... But we do have milk here if you want to try it.

[She hands Kairi her spoon and moves the bowl over.]

[And she takes that spoon.

And spoons up some curry.

And gives Rise one last look.]

[She gives her a reassuring smile as she puts the cup of milk beside the bowl.]

[She takes a bite... and nearly dropped her spoon. Her eyes water and her lips purse. Quickly, she takes the milk and begins chugging down the glass.]

[OH NO DON'T DIE!

Rise gets up and rushes over to the counter. She comes back with more milk.]

Your tongue might be a little numb for a few minutes...

[She whines into her glass, drinking it down.]

How can you even still taste stuff?

[dangerousidol]

[She sighs softly, taking a drink from the other glass of milk before looking at Kairi.]

Come on, let me see your tongue.

[Still sizzling, she sticks it out to let the cool air touch it.]

Is it burnt...?

[dangerousidol]

[She takes something out of her bag and breaks a piece off. She then places that piece of milk chocolate on Kairi's tongue.]

[Candy? Rise, you were totally prepared for that, weren't you? Kairi chews it happily, the creamy chocolate ebbing the heat until it is just a dull glow on her tongue.]

Thanks. I thought I was gonna lose my tongue there...

[She giggles, moving back to finish her milk. Her tongue still hurt, after all.]
