Summary: It's Rise's birthday. And with the Fourth Wall wackiness, she forgot to tell anyone. So here's a depressed Rise who now feels too awkward telling anyone.


Locked Prompt for Crocker

[Rise had found a bakery in the quieter part of Goldenrod. She was sitting at a table in the corner, surrounded by her Pokémon. Her Sylveon, Himiko, and her Umbreon, Chiisai, sat on either side of her, and a newly evolved Glaceon, Jin, laid beside Chiisai. Her ever present Meowstic, Nanako, was trying to cheer up her trainer by floating a burning candle and making it move in complicated patterns.

There was a very small smile on her face, though she still looked sad.]

[Rise's out and about town now, her usual smile very brittle. She'll nod to people she knows, but keeps walking, her Pokémon always at her side. If anyone pay attention, she's wearing a pair of black glasses, with small bands of color on the frames, a red Alice band, and a set of headphones around her neck. There's also a blue hat attached to a studded belt, buttons on the hat, and a random red rose attached to the band in her hair, and last, a black tie with barrettes attached. (Of course she's wearing clothes to match this look) These are not the usual things she wears, but items from her friends. She had wished for keepsakes from home, and they had been on her bed that morning.

At least something was going right today. Her thoughts are all over the place, so it'll be hard to get her attention.]

[Out on the streets and walking with a Dedenne is Atsuro. He hand his hands in his pockets as he watch Flonette run about ahead of him, but not too far that he lost sight of her. Tied around the strap of his bag is a pink bandanna, one of the things he wished for as a test...

Until he snaps out of his thoughts when Flonette bumped into someone. Or rather, someone familiar.]

Wha--Flonette! I'm sorry about that, miss... [He quicken his pace, until he sees who the person is.] ...Rise?

[Rise looked down as she had something bump into her. She blinks and pats Flonette on the head.]

You should watch where you're going. Okay?

[She looks up and forces a small smile.] Atsuro?

[Flonette looks up at Rise and gives a cheerful greeting. Oh, she remembers her! Kinda of? From that weird castle...]

Yep, that's me. [He stops in front of her, giving her a smile.] Are you out on a walk as well?

[Her three Eeveelutions walk right up to Flonette for a greeting. Hello little friend!]

It's been a while! [She hesitates before nodding.] You could cay that.

[Flonette looks up at the three Eeveelutions in curiosity. Oooh, hello back to you!]

It has been! [He removes his hands from his pockets, now that they're chatting. Though, he couldn't help but notice the various accessories she's wearing.] Have you been doing alright? It feels like things have been busy for a while.

[That's...really quite the ensemble, isn't it. And really quite the long look on the girl's face, too.

Kirigiri's walking around today with her neon-green shiny Espeon in tow, and for a minute it's really tempting to just sort of...keep her head down and keep on walking, blending into the figurative shadows as she so frequently does, but something about the whole little sequence sort of...nags at her, and before she can think better of it, she's walked over to investigate.]

[Funny, how they'd talked once about Eevee and its various evolutions, and now here she is crossing paths with the girl while flanked by one. What chance.]

[She hasn't heard that voice since the first day she came here. They talked about Eevee's. And Chihiro-kun talked fondly about her.]

[She forces a small smile. It was nice to meet people she's talked to before.]

I've been here for a month now? Just been really busy with work. Oh, and spending time with some friends!

[Rise smiles at Jin, her shiny Glaceon, who shyly comes forward.]

This is Jin. Jin, meet Kirigiri-san and Yoshiki.

[She pauses, regarding the Glaceon with a slight nod.]

...It's good to keep busy, I suppose.

[Denzel arrives with his own Sylveon, Cleffa and Growlithe by his side and they all rush in. The man himself, has a notebook at his side]

Hello. Good to meet you finally in person, yes.

Mmmm... What's with the cake? Wait - is it your birthday? [Crocker looks at the sad smile and the single candle burning on the cake and sighs]

If it makes you feel any better I know this feeling.

[She blinks as she looks up at him. Oh! Crocker! He actually came... This puts a small smile on her face. Finally, someone not too busy to talk to her.]

Crocker-san... I'm glad you could make it!

[She gives him a tired nod. She hadn't had the heart to actually get cake, but Nanako had let the waitress know. So here was a birthday cake on the house for Rise. Seems her 'commercial' made her popular with some people.

The happy birthday and the body contortion throw her off for a moment.]

T-Thank you! Uhm... are you alright?

That's a plain silly question of course I could make it!

I'm fine. Why do you ask? Although- I do feel your pain about your birthday not being remembered.

[The man groans for a moment]

[Kairi gingerly steps off the train at Goldenrod Station, a bit nervous. She dressed herself in a pink half-dress with a frilled hem. Her short hair is tied out of her eyes with a pink ribbon, which she paws at absentmindedly.

After shuffling her way off the platform, she stands by the exit with her hands folded into her lap. Rise said she was going to pick her up, right?]

[Rise realized halfway through her walk that she had been messaged that morning. Oh no!

She runs to the train station, Pokémon close behind her, and almost slides to a stop when she gets in the door. Breathing hard, she has to take a moment before walking up to Kairi.]

H-Hey! Sorry I'm late!

Don't worry, I didn't really know when the train was coming in.

[She puts her hands behind her back, trying not to be awkward.]

Want to get some water?

[She laughs nervously as she stands up straighter. She does have to admit that Kairi looks utterly adorable.]

Well, I was walking around with everyone, and we got distracted.

[Nanako shoots her a look, which Rise ignores.]

Water's good... but how about we go for something else? There's a place here with all sorts of cold drinks!

[Ringabel knows distress when he sees it, and while he hasn't known Rise as long as his other friends, he opts to trail her. Perhaps he can cheer her up, or at least find out what's bothering her.

After a few moments, he clears his throat and gives a small wave.]

[Rise practically jumps out of her skin. She turns around and sees someone unexpected.]

R-Ringabel!

[She's so scattered in thoughts it doesn't click that she didn't call him what she usually does. Her Pokémon recognize him and each wave at him in their own ways.]

T-Thanks. I thought... I'd try something new today! Yeah!

[He takes a moment to greet the Pokémon with a wave.]
